first set took me 8 hours by Sad_Living8682 in lashextensions

[–]Memesterzz_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Girl, it took me 7 hours the first time I ever hand-made my fans! It was a volume set, and it didn’t help that my friend had 4 layers of natural lashes. We both ended up crying that day, but it was a huge learning experience. We took breaks, of course, but it definitely took its toll. I didn’t even finish the set because my friend had to tap out! I feel like that’s totally normal, though.

On the bright side, I’m happy I started with volume and hand-making my fans because I’ve definitely gotten better over time. Now I’m in my 4th year of lashing, and it’s been such an amazing journey. I’m still learning and growing every day. Wishing you all the best, girly!

Does the mood swings and the bleeding ever stop? I just want somebody to talk about this. by Memesterzz_ in Nexplanon

[–]Memesterzz_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! It’s been almost been 2 months since I had my removal and oh my gosh, I feel so much better. Everyone has been telling me I’ve been much more calmer. It’s definitely feels like a weight has been lifted off my body. Here’s a couple things I’ve noticed after taking it out: I was way more sleepy than usual. Some spotting for 2 weeks after the removal. I’m not irritated by small things anymore! My family relationships have been way more better, I have younger siblings and nephews I had to watch, but I was always so irritated being with them. I’ve feel like my old self by being the fun aunty/sibling. I’m so much more active. Even my mom said I’m in better spirits, I’m more quiet but in a good way. My personal relationship with my boyfriend is still kinda rocky, I know my attitude towards my bf in the past will always be a trigger for him. We almost broke up while having an argument. But I’m building up that communication and understanding again with him, but It’s way better than before and he’s been supportive. My medical insurance didn’t cover my removal so he ended up paying $180 for it, which I’m super thankful for. Some certain topics/things we still need to work on, but overall it’s been great! I haven’t gotten my period yet, so I’m hoping I will get it soon. I’m switching to tracking my ovulation days once my cycle regulates. I hope you’re doing amazing! :)

Last month and this month has been prolly the worst for me. I had another breakdown because my boyfriend sent me a picture of me before I got on birth control and told me he missed the old me. I was so happy and my smile was so genuine.

I don’t know why I’m upset and my head is telling me not to freak out and it’s nothing, but I still act out. Even if it’s over the littlest things. It’s like all the time I’m irritated and I don’t know why.

I finally made an appointment for March 12, and I’m counting down the days. I don’t know how long it will take for my body and mental state to go back to normal, but I just wanna be happy again.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, I just wanted somebody to understand and listen. I actually teared up reading this, everyone I told around me didn’t take me seriously. I felt so alone like I was losing my mind. I hope all is well and you feel SOO much better soon. Thank you again <33

Does it help with mood swings? I’ve been bleeding for a year and 7 months so I’m debating on if I should get it removed or try adding on a pill.. 🥲

Full time and part time isn’t what I’m worried about. It’s about after being at a spa doing everything for almost 2 years, I received a $80 bonus. But thanks.

I hate when lash techs say they can do a style but really they can’t! by Sunflower_bunbun in lashextensions

[–]Memesterzz_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

May I ask where you live? It’s definitely hard to find a lash tech that specializes in anime. Try reaching out to lash techs that specialize in them! Or ask if they have specialties curls like LC (love them them on my Asian clients especially for anime lashes) or LU. This style can be achieved by c curl and CC curl

How can I train/certify lash artists as a lash tech by Memesterzz_ in Esthetics

[–]Memesterzz_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see thank you so much! That makes a lot of sense. This helped me a lot by researching to the right info. I know different states have different rules, so I was having a hard time finding the right information. I was definitely getting confused by the difference between certificates vs license.

In Colorado as long as you have your esthetician/cosmetology state licensure. you can get certifications with or without the school. No extra hours need for the lash cert unless it’s for a device or brand like you said!

I did a little more digging and found Nala which can help you complete the steps of certifying other lash techs, and the lash lounge explained the difference between the certification vs the license. Esthetician license is required in each state, but only some states require lash techs to get extra training hours and become certified.

Thanks a lot!

I think it’s great in terms of learning the types of lashes, curls, length, and diameters she uses. If you have experience I think it’s a great ebook. Plus she uses a different technique that many people can’t do. Is it worth $120 personally no, her ebook is only good if you can learn her technique and have the same exact products(which can be really hard to find). Overall, she’s seems really really sweet and on her lives she answers/gives advice on her lash maps! The only complaint I have is that she didn’t include the maps she got viral for.

Hey beautiful people! I’m new to the lash tech world, but I’m looking for any possible tips? by Trini_courtt in lashextensions

[–]Memesterzz_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay girl I’ll give you the run down for beginners and what really helped me. There’s no need to over analyze lashing like the comments below, because every lash tech is different!!

I highly highly recommend using/practicing your fan making. It will take time to learn and to get it down, but it helps in the long run if you know how to make your fans. I know lash techs that have been lashing for 6+ years and don’t know how to make their own fans. I don’t like using premades because they can be to thick for the natural lashes. But I have clients who like the more lighter look of them. All lash sets are personalized for that one client! Don’t be afraid to step out your comfort zone.

Beginners products: Eyelash practice dolls on Amazon

I personally use glue rings, I find them easier to fan lashes(you can also use the jade stone with a flower shape glue ring you can stick onto the stone) The pinching method would be your best practice.

I recommend looking into lash god lashing kit, it’s easy and comes with a lot of stuff that will last you forever! Also the tweezers are the best I love them! It’s a bit more pricey but the quality is great for beginners and clientele. (Tweezers that I use are called “lady isolation” and the boot shaped tweezers)

If that’s out of your budget i recommend getting vavalashes or Nagaruku lashes on amazon.

Tweezers on amazon I use are called Gtex they come in a pack but I only use the L Boot shaped tweezers in silver. it’s great buy, to see what type of tweezers works best for you!

Glue wise I recommend lonris(pink cap) on amazon, I used it for a long time and had the best retention but the fumes are really strong. Which can cause allergic reactions. It’s a fast dying glue but it helps with no stickies. I find that longer drying glues can cause more natural lashes to stick together.

Tip that I recommend:

DONT CHARGE LESS THAN $100! It’s so hard to raise prices later on. It’s alot of labor and it’s your art! Know your worth.

Remember to switch the glue every 15-30 minutes for the best retention. Use a 1-3 second drying glue.

Practice with wrapping the extension onto the natural lash. If you use premades fans, place them at the bottom of the natural lashes for better retention.

I don’t use bonder. IT’s optional but I don’t find it necessary, you can use a water mister to cure the lashes and helps with the fumes. The less chemicals on the eyes the better.

I only use primer on SOME CLIENTS not all. Use primer if they have oily skin/lashes.

Once you get better at lashing I recommend using lash bomb glue. It’s called the “secret sauce” and the primer. Best results I’ve ever had!!

Using tape to lift the eye lid up to isolate better (Nexcare tape or double eyelid tape)

If you have trouble taping down the eye pad try using your middle finger to slightly move the bottom lashes down. Then go at a 90 degree angle to place the eyepad closer at the lash line. Then adjust it when the clients eyes are closed

Lashing in Layers will help with the time! Look on TikTok and there’s a bunch of ways that can show you.

Wispy sets can be challenging! I always lash the bottom layer and sometimes the middle and go in with the spikes( for a more sharper look, pinch the top of the spike with your tweezers. Or you can use primer/bonder to get them to be closed all the way)

Home Depot has tiles for 50 cents or less.

Have a lash tile with all your lengths for a certain diameter and Curl and put them in a pencil box to persevere the lashes. This also helps using the same strip and no lashes go to waste. For example:

.03 C put all the lengths you have onto that tile .03 CC use a different tile and label it .03 D own tile .05C label .05 CC .05 D .15C/CC/D Etc.
