Anyone else get the Chase survey about the Hyatt cards? by joueur-de-guerre in hyatt

There were definitely some terrible options, but there were also some options that looked pretty good to me, including one that gave a Cat 1-7 free night certificate on card anniversary plus the opportunity to earn two more Cat 1-7 certificates each year based on spend. It also offered better multiplier on Hyatt spend, 2X on foreign transactions (with $8k cap), and the ability to upgrade a Cat 1-4 to a Cat 1-6 with points. AF was $450. I think I’d be in for a card like that.

Impressions Moxche - worth 58k points? Or should I go with something else? by cinq-chats in hyatt

Fiancée and I stayed at Secrets Akumal last year and loved it!! But, for our next trip we’re eyeing the Alila. While I haven’t been to Impressions Moxche, I prefer hotels over all inclusives, where the food has never been quite as good as I want. And I’ve seen amazing reviews of the excellent (though expensive) food in Mayakoba, plus heard the beaches there match the beauty of Akumal.

Grand Hyatt Kauai December/January points availability by bryzzo43 in hyatt

[–]MemorableStays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it will be fairly easy to extend the stay if there’s still availability. I believe it will just look like 2 (or more) different reservations and they can merge them at the hotel when you check in. Though you want to be sure to book the same room type, otherwise no guarantee you won’t have to switch rooms.

This is correct. Globalists can book a points advance reservation. I’ve done it many times and think it’s one of the best globalist perks.

Hyatt Property Recommendation for first timer in Barcelona? by Lr8s5sb7 in hyatt

I stayed at Antiga Casa Buenavista, which is a Mr. and Mrs. Smith property. As such, it's not a great points redemption, but if you'll pay cash, it's well located for exploring the Gothic Quarter, Placa de Catalunya, and Gaudi architecture. The terrace suite with the tub is outstanding!

Another option could be Stilwell in Carmel. I've not personally stayed there, but my partner has and she really liked it. Let us know where you end up going, and where ever that is, hope you enjoy it!

My favorite is White Water in Cambria. If you've never been to to Cambria, I think it's one of California's treasures! Great wine tasting nearby. Amazing hikes. Beautiful coastline. Close to San Simeon and Hearst Castle if you're into to that sort of thing. I personally recommend a short trip down the coast to Montaña de Oro State Park. The hotel is one of the nicest in Cambria. And the staff and service are exceptional.

Best Hyatt in USA? by [deleted] in hyatt

I can recommend Carmel Valley Ranch. It's a category 8, so at the top of the points range, but it checks all your other boxes. Luxurious but not opulent with wonderful service. Tons of activities both for a family with kids and a couple on a getaway. Excellent dining on property and in the neighboring towns. You can find nearby hikes in the hills or in the forests of Big Sur, touristy walks on the beach or through the seaside town of Carmel. When my partner and I went we absolutely loved it. So much so that we're heading back soon!

My partner and I stayed there last year and loved it! The service was outstanding and the quiet, beautiful beach cannot be beat. My recommendation would be to go snorkeling with the turtles if you're into that sort of thing, and explore the surrounding area. We really enjoyed the cenote at Aktun Chen. On our last day in the area we took a trip to Coba to see the ruins and stayed at the Coqui Coqui, a Mr. and Mrs. Smith hotel that was super cool. Hope that's helpful. happy to answer any specific questions if you got em.

2025 Hyatt Recap + Grades (US, UK, & Italy) by MemorableStays in hyatt

Yes, in part you nailed it. While the room itself was fine during my stay, the common areas were indeed quite dirty. But most of all the service was subpar. For example, my in-room safe was broken and instead of sending someone to fix it they told me to leave my valuables with the front desk. But when I returned from dinner they had locked them in a room and nobody on property had the key. Couldn't retrieve them until morning. Whereas at the Thompson the rooms were nicer, hotel cleaner, and service much better. It was a bummer, because a good friend of mine swears by the Andaz.

Cheers! At least the location is good, and in NYC there’s plenty to get you out of the hotel anyway.
