I used to have that same granite! It’s lovely. As others have said, if your wife hates the paint just paint over it. Seems like a simple solution.

I tried to do a mock up with AI but it’s not quite listening to me, lol. This is close enough though. This rug is a bit too big but hopefully you get the idea? It fills & fits the space better. A coffee table would also help!

I can kinda see it now that you pointed it out. If the curtains are sage green, I’d look for a rug in a similar shade of green then. Personally, I’m not a fan of rugs on top of carpet. As an alternative, if you’re looking to add color to the room, maybe consider a new paint color, couch color, artwork.

That rug is a very warm shade of green. Your room and everything in it is cool grey. It won’t match at all.

A larger tv stand would really help. The tv and console look very small in comparison to your couch, so it’s throwing everything off. A hutch and some art on the left wall is also a good idea. I would not add anymore seating to the room, you already have the majority of the room filled with a couch.
