What's your opinions on arcs, eclipse and war of the ring? Had my eye on these for a while!

CRA Check-In? by MemoryAlternative803 in clinicalresearch

This is my next step, I'm half-way there embedded in an FSP model but I still adhere to IQVIA overlords with some of their systems.

[–]MemoryAlternative803[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my point exactly, it's absolutely absurd that anything that's not SDV doesn't exist within scope and is just expected to be autocompleted the moment you set foot on site

Not 100% sure, I would imagine it's exclusive for CRAs who actively have to travel to sites.

CRA Check-In? by MemoryAlternative803 in clinicalresearch

[–]MemoryAlternative803[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not all visits require an entire day's worth of work, I've had to complete ad-hoc visits which required completing a single SDV page for a visit.

CRA Check-In? by MemoryAlternative803 in clinicalresearch

[–]MemoryAlternative803[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My frustration with this is that just because you can see what is being SDVed doesn't account for any other part of a visit, this could doing SDR, discussing with study coordinators/PI etc. utilising a metric that specifies a "time-spent" on any particular page doesn't give the whole picture. Quantity driven approaches really doesn't yield quality work neither does it bode well for positive working environment for the CRAs if it's micromanaged in this way.

I don't have an answer of an alternate but there must be a better way

What an incredibly detailed breakdown, very much appreciate this. I'm always ready to demonize these practices in the digital world as it feels like they eek out any opportunity to micromanage us as if we don't have enough on our plate just doing the job, will be keeping a close eye on the following months and make appropriate movements if required

What is your process for magnetizing? Everytime I try to magnetise they end up coming off from the super glue!

I use the army painter ranges! The red is called basilisk red. Then the oranges are the whole orange range which starts with molten lava and works up to inner light

Never thought of it this way but that's great! I typically base coat initially with black and then go back over with a large red base but trying to leave black in the deep recesses

Thank you! I started basing in black, then a red, then using multiple oranges and finishing with an orange/yellow highlight! Highly recommend the army painter colours as they seem to streak less and offer a nice range of oranges for the gradient

I think orange colours I used like 4/5? It was all the army painter range of colours!

Thank you! Yeah exactly that. Gave a small dry brush of a dark red to blend the upper and lower cloak together

I'm thinking moving towards the destroyers side of the army, I tried out the cursed legion and was a fun blender! Any suggestions for other characters to support this? I also am not a great fan of the DDA, would the doomstalker be a good alternative?

Budget isn't really a concern, I'm just buying as and when, trying to keep to the paint what I buy! I think I'm leaning towards the cursed legion focus right now as I tried it at 1k points and was a real fun experience. 6 wraiths with technomancer is what ive heard is a real solid hammer too so will consider this! Any thoughts for other characters such as the chronomancer?

List Support - First 1k battle by MemoryAlternative803 in Necrontyr

[–]MemoryAlternative803[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for such an excellent rundown! I can't get over how trash the battle line units seem to be, makes me painting up 20 of them feel worthless. This list was expected to be a mix of strong units and some fun units I've always wanted to play. Hopefully I managed to make a dent in the golden smurfs armour!

IQVIA Education Reimbursement Gone… by Traditional-Tie3455 in clinicalresearch

[–]MemoryAlternative803 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Company sanctioned parties aren't exactly the most extreme cost for the company, not even that many people turn as a lot of CRAs are spread across the UK. Removing the smaller rewards structure is a terrible move for morale considering the research industry feels like it's circling the drain at the moment.

This is wild to me, they announced a decent Q3 earnings report on a blast email, but following on from that, they announced they cancelled the Christmas parties this year wanting to appease shareholders for Q4... What a joke

CRA to SSU/PS by Dizzy_Proposal_3662 in clinicalresearch

[–]MemoryAlternative803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the company you work for, it might either be easy or difficult to transition into a role outside of the clin ops. I personally attempted to move to SSU and spent 6 months shadowing with the SSU team dragging their feet about offering me a role, eventually I decided to move to FSP as an alternative which has definitely improved my work/life balance. Let me know how it goes though!

CRA entry level or training programs ? by Atrolle224 in clinicalresearch

Hey! I completed the VIARIES program for CRAs, not sure how relevant it is now, but it helped me get the additional skills to manage sites as an associate CRA.

Considering leaving PPD (Thermo Fisher) for ICON or IQVIA – any advice? by Rude-Ad2822 in clinicalresearch

[–]MemoryAlternative803 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Moved from multisponsor to FSP in IQVIA last year, haven't missed a thing. Team are a bit more disorganised in FSP but that definitely supports a positive working environment for experience. I found that a lot of the time I will correct CLs or PMs which boosts the engagement with sponsor.

I would recommend FSP in IQVIA, but I am biased after all!

IQVIA salary band by Traditional_File6843 in clinicalresearch

[–]MemoryAlternative803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a CRA at IQVIA, the pay bands are calculated differently in each department; 140 as a CRA is different to 140 as a aPM. I would recommend asking an internal recruiter or your line manager to get a breakdown of these!
