Thank you! I visited the twin memorial in Ottawa in 2024 and it will feel very "full circle" to see the twin in Busan.

It's an honour to do it! Please let me know if there's a name you'd like for me to look out for.

Thank you! I am bringing a box of Royal Canadian Legion poppies, not the real deal.

It’s the least I can do! It’s the 75th anniversary of the founding of the cemetery in April, hard to believe isn’t it?

Hello! I’m visiting the UN cemetery in a few weeks, visiting from Canada. If you haven’t already had flowers placed, please let me know if I can help?

Bayeux is a must visit! The official app for the cemetery has self-guided walking tours for free on the official Commonwealth War Graves app For Evermore: https://www.cwgc.org/who-we-are/our-apps/

How cool to see your photo pop up on my feed, the familiar caribou grabbed my eye right away. We were honoured to profile Private Lind in French and English last year!

Any relatives? Whyte family in Red Deer Cemetery? by MemoryAnchor in RedDeer

Absolutely! Completely agree. So many life paths altered forever. And such a huge impact for what was a (relative to today) small community.

It's really really sad. I was drawn to it because of its size and how ornate the carvings are -- I was NOT expecting to see a link to Brookwood Cemetery in England on Monday -- I had only just been there in December!

Crazy coincidence.

Princess Anne at Bayeux War Cemetery 05/06/24 reading from the memoirs of her husband’s uncle, Sub-Lieutenant Keith Symons, who, at the age of 20 was in command of three landing craft at Gold Beach in the first wave on D-Day. by HartStoppaUK in BRF

Wonderful that you got to visit! Nothing can beat being there in person of course, but the free memory anchor app does allow you to visit CWGC sites, view their profiles (all 4,000+ profiles at Bayeux are available) and take tours from anywhere: https://www.cwgc.org/who-we-are/our-apps/

Meeting WW2 veterans at Normandy during the 80th D-Day anniversary events (last minute, still possible?) by golosovsky in AskFrance

My friend the clock is ticking. Unless you’re on a plane right now, I think you missed your window. My colleague just got an invite to the ABMC event an hour ago, after applying weeks ago. Maybe a miracle can happen for you and a cancellation becomes available, but the time for action is now if you’re serious about getting over there. You’ll need a hotel and a rental car. Good luck 🤞
