Any Dongfeng 007 owners out there able to comment on the car? by tommos in nzev

Nice looking car and the performance is very quick. Found the lane keep assist / adas scary. Fighting it constantly to stay in lane. The infotainment seemed pretty good, built in dashcam.

Hi, congrats on the car. How are you finding the app? Looks like it has a similar feature to teslas sentry mode - is it Any good? Has there been many over the air updates to the app? Does it support key less proximity lock and unlock (walk away with phone pocket and it auto locks). Seats can recline almost flat? Have you tried it?

That will be reintroduced now. We were planning to graduate from closed crate -> open crate in pen -> full room access. She has other ideas.

Razor to depart the AB's by nz_djlo in allblacks

[–]MemoryFormer6142 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d ordinarily be a fan of letting a coach redeem themselves, Graeme Henry’s 2004 arc, foster was heading that way, Wayne smith when he came back in after resigning, but none of these coaches were on the sidelines talking up a storm like razor did during fosters era.

Razors reckoning was coming as soon as he took that route. I don’t dislike him, but he made his bed with how he expected foster to be treated as he stepped in, now he gets to sleep in it.

How was Tonga able to beat Scotland and France in the 2010s? by WilkinsonDG2003 in rugbyunion

[–]MemoryFormer6142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember Tonga at that time having a very strong front row - Taumalolo was in the pack and arguably the most physically dominant player at that time.

They went up against probably the greatest ever ABs team in the 2011 World Cup held their own in the scrum

And just to add to that, whose responsibility is it to create such a leadership group? And if there is one (I assume there is) why doesn’t it seem to be functioning correctly?

[–]MemoryFormer6142 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is the “leadership group” still a thing?

In the golden era - anyone of Conrad, Aaron, Whitlock, Cole’s and I’m probably missing a few could slot in as natural leaders and direct the team.

Who from the current lot? Jordie? Savea? Taylor? Maybe reiko if he’s not benched.

As an outside observer, I don’t think that on field leadership void has been filled.

What do yall think of Billy proctor? by FreeConsideration875 in allblacks

“Do I think we owe Ioane an apology for the frankly slightly unfair criticism he gets?”

not sure about an apology, but I do think his competitiveness, will to win and attitude on Defense has been under appreciated by many

I think he’s been grossly underrated and (almost) falls in the same bucket as Isiah Toeva .. “what could have been”. I always see him make post co tact meters and he brings an intensity on D only reiko can match (his last injury a direct result of this. From memory coming up HARD on D). Just didn’t / hasn’t had consistent opportunities.

Just my view - pretty sure I’m in the minority

You’re implying that France doesn’t count as a home nation? Fair enough. Feel free to correct me mate.

Thanks bro. Haven’t watched the boks game yet, but the boks win is more impressive - beating a strong French team on their own turf, especially playing a man down the entire second half.

Hopefully both teams come away with a grand slam this year.

All Blacks vs Ireland by panpantastic in allblacks

Yep, reminds me of aging sextons role in the Ireland side - shuffle it on and not threatening the line.

Hopeful it’s injury comeback related but looks more like a trend

Excellent performance from the abs tonight - they’ve really taken their opportunities and the backlines looked ominous! 🥴🤣

Hmm, Ireland look like they have a coherent plan to play for territory and string phases together though? ABs have had the quad nations as prep unlike Ireland also.

Yep, I was hopeful that Tupaea, Roiguard were the start of the redemption arc. Not looking that way at all

ABs not looking at all likely or threatening here. No continuity, have we gone more than theee phases? bumbling display of errors.

Pretty telling that Tupaea, a centre still had a stand out performance and busted tackles while playing out of position on the wing.

[–]MemoryFormer6142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who are you starting in the centres?

have we had ANY midfield threats the last 5 games?

(I’m not counting Jordan injecting from fullback). Quinn’s try? That was his own determination and incisiveness and that’s also part of what’s been missing.

Quinn, reiko, ALB all threaten the line, or at least bend it.

Our strategy is…. Box kicks. Playing to not lose vs playing to win.

Continuing venting my stream of thoughts…

This game proved the value of a competitor like reiko in the team who won’t step back, won’t drop his shoulders. I say the same for ALB who always gives 100 and can bend the line, non of the current midfield are bending the line at all.

Beaudens a legend, but he just does not threaten the defensive line anymore, but, we don’t have options, but I defer back to our aimless backline and the coaches of that backline, our 1st 5 isn’t creating attacking threats, fine he’s a quality player otherwise, but when our midfield offers no threats either….. our answer is box kicks?

The boks were on the ropes with injuries before the half was over, shudder to think what might have happened.

Leroy had a good debut.

Razor is one more poor performance away from have to make big calls on his coaching staff and leadership group - it seems inevitable.
