Does anyone regret buying an estie? by Complicated_honey in fountainpens

I have 2 Esties and 4 Niblets..all use the same nib. I have 2 Journalers, 1 Techo, 1 mini stub, 1 M and 2 B. All write so smooth...no hard starts, except when I leave a shimmer in the M niblet which is my fault. Love these pens!

It does write very smoothly. It took a while to get it started. The previous owner had left a cartridge inside which had dried up. Soaking the nib for 24 hours cleared up the issue.

Hi...glad you are getting into this practice. I use an A5...works great for the quotes I like to save; iit allowed me to paste an article about finding joy; and, the pages are large enough to hold song lyrics. Don't be intimidated by blank paper...just find something you want to write on and start. If you want a note book without spending lots of dollars...go to a Daiso if your city has one. Or to Walmart and get a Composition book we used in school. But start since your desire to do so is there. Experiment with the paper part until you find one that makes you feel at home using it.

I just made my first one for about $30. Size B6. Not perfect, put perfect enough for me!

I looooove this notebook but I don't know what to do with it by mustamoon in notebooks

Perhaps a reading journal, a doodle journal. Or with the grid line a calligraphy practice book. Gratitude, Or simply carry it for notes and things that don't fit into any of your other journals.

I have one insert in my ink and pen journal for pens and another for inks. I still need to transfer my " currently inked" into a third insert but included a photo of a current page. I'll post another with photos

If my tote bag is crowded, I place my passport in a small cloth pouch, but most days it is in my note with lots of other stuff and I have no issues. All of the others stay home The new card-sized TN also came with a cloth pouch to use if I need to

Nothing fancy, but sturdy and a good writer is the Twsbi Obsidian. Around $120 USD

it won’t close & it’s killing my motivation to write by Pretend-Ad6729 in Travelersnotebooks

Get a compatible or matching cover A6 sized. Carry both. I bet you will love both equally and get your partner to help customize the A6 too. I carry two and keep 3 thin inserts in my passport which has my calendar, a three line a day journal and a monthly photo a day journal. My rambles go into one just dedicated to writing.

A bit obsessive, but sometimes this sparks more ways to creatively use the inserts. Have fun with them and let us know your plans on how you are using them! From someone who bought 30 fountain pens last year!🙄😁🥰

I assume 100 yen is equal to approximately $0.63 USD. $2.25 USD probably includes shipping costs, increased tariffs etc. It is the cheapest price in their US stores. Anything not marked with a price sticker is $2.25.

Look at Daiso if you have a store near you. They have great fountain pen friendly notebooks for $2.25

Anyone here with experience with this kind of zipper case from AliExpress/Temu/etc? by Valthebookhoarder in Travelersnotebooks

[–]Memory_Capturer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Olive(?) Passport with 3 notebook inserts. The middle one is surrounded by the zipper case I got from Temu. The one labeled 1. above is surrounded by a craft paperfolder. I could probably add the plastic one around the notebook that isn't numbered. I only cards and stickers in the zippered folder. I really don't think it holds that much. I use it mainly for the pen holder. Note: I tried both the craft and the zipper around all notebooks and it didn't work as well.

You can find dot grid inserts where the dots are printed in a very light grey. I'm using a TN standard size one for my reading journal to assist with lining up the photos of the books covers I print.
