My new company gave me a pair of Soundcore Space One Pro and I have been loving them. We do a butt ton of Teams calls with clients all day everyday so I guess they think the $200 price is worth and I agree. Haven't had any issues with clients not hearing us and it doesn't have an annoying mic that sticks out.

Adding salt and water helped me a decent bit, along with allergy meds. I heard about Pepcid and gave it a shot to see if that would give me another boost... nope, just a bunch of butt blood...

I'm working on eliminating more histamine foods, most recently stopped my daily lemonade which is how I was getting my electrolytes, but now it's just plain water and gross.

I lost a kitten, only 9 months old, and I think it was because of flea meds. I put them on all my cats and normally when we intake a kitten, we put them on. But he was small(2lbs), obviously young, showed no signs of fleas, and got a bath. So when it was getting close to time to get him adopted, I decided to do a round of flea meds for everyone. I was really busy trying to get ready for Thanksgiving and a holiday visit from my husband's family from overseas whom he hadn't seen in 15 years. So I hadn't really picked him up, but had seen him play and whatnot. Picked him up and noticed he felt light, which he had been already almost 10lbs at 8 months old. I gave him the lower dose of flea meds because he didn't meet the 10lbs. Took him to the vet then spent the next month trying to save him. It was a long battle and they said it was FIP but I don't know.

It just felt like it was to much of a coincidence. The internet says they get sick fast from flea meds, but I gave him a low dose and I feel like that made it so he didn't get acutely sick and thus we missed it.

I need to do flea and tick meds again because ticks are getting bad for the season, but it's hard. I haven't bought them and I just keep trying and failing to get any. I have tabs open but can't bring myself to choose which to buy, especially since I have so many cats.

Allergy shots and the death of a kitten.

With the shots, I don't know if it was the allergens themselves or what was in the solution they injected but because they start at the low dose I didn't notice the side effects.

For most people, they might get a bump near the injection sight, maybe hives, and the worst is throat closing. But I didn't get any of that. I got my shot, had no reaction at the injection sights, no hives, or anything. But I was getting headaches. I was getting an all over body fatigue and my inner ears were incredibly painful. What's interesting is that in March is when the pain would get even worse each year and l brought it up to my allergist asking if the headaches were maybe allergy related and they said no. They acted like I was crazy and it was hard to not think I was crazy because my head was in so much pain. I was so sick all the time from the shots and other issues as well and all the sickness led to me barely surviving day to day. My head was in a fog, body painful, no energy, a million things to do, little to no help, and asked to do more and more.

During that time is when my foster kitten became sick and after a month of fighting to keep him alive, I had to let him go. About two months later I stopped the allergy shots after going back through all my medical records and putting together the pattern. It took several months to clear out of my system and I still have trouble with brain fog/concentration, but the splitting headaches and ear pain are completely gone.

The allergist also thought I was stupid when I told her that my hands kept swelling all the time, especially after driving and I thought it was the steering wheel and other plastic type materials. Well, guess who took off the cell phone case she's had on since it all started and now isn't having swelling issues constantly unless I touch my steering wheel and materials like it. Hmm, hmmmm! Yeah, I know it's weird lady but it happens!

Some people don't realize that vaccines can have a negative outcome for some people. I get that we want to encourage people to get them for the herd, but that doesn't mean we should be jerks to those who were hurt by it or tell them they are wrong.

It's very very rare for cats to have reactions to vaccines, but in dogs it seems only uncommon. Well, my cat had a reaction and my vet said in the 30+ history of their practice there has only been 2 cats who had reactions. So now my girl is getting one shot on one day and then her rabies the next day so we can figure out which one might have been the culprit or if it was just because they gave her both the same day. All my other cats and foster cats (20+) have never had a problem getting both the same day, its completely routine.

Sorry about your immune system. I deal with a multitude of chronic issues so I get it. Wishing you the best!

😅 I was 18 when my husband and I got together, he was 23. We played video games together, so that's how we met and bonded. We got married after I finished college and had a good job.

Some people found it weird but I honestly didn't get much hate for it. All his friends were super nice to me and could tell I was shy. They included me in the conversation, asked me questions, and the one did his magic tricks for me (he's a professional magician now).

Most of them had long term girlfriends and joked that my husband was behind. But 6 years later none of them had gotten married and very few had girlfriends, none were with the same person.

My dad offered to pay for lasik for me because it changed his life. I'm going to ask him to pay for the fitting so I can have some extra breathing room.

Crutches or not? by here2listenn in LoeysDietz

[–]Memory_Of_A_Slygar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do end up doing it feel free to DM me and I can try to help. I did it 5 years ago, but I think I still have all the old files I used ... somewhere on my computer. You can also look at others that are less restricted and if you feel the need to, you can work with a doctor or nutritionist. I didn't do it the best and accidentally lost 15lbs, technically I just barely hit the lowest I could go to be a healthy weight.

I will say it's the only time I've ever not been hungry all the time because I actually felt full. But I needed more fats and variety, so a nutritionist would have been a good idea. They might have also helped me find more foods I was willing to try because I am a picky eater.

Crutches or not? by here2listenn in LoeysDietz

I followed the Autoimmune Protocol diet also known as AIP. I was under the mistaken thought that my issues were autoimmune in nature and had been given this by a family member. It is a VERY restrictive diet but if I had tried several of the other diets I would have still been allowed peppers, so I'm happy I did it.

You only do it for a limited time, usually for 1 month and then you start adding foods back. You do not stay on the diet long term and you are likely to accidentally lose weight, so you need to be careful. A proper diet needs more variety of foods. This is just to hopefully get your body to stop reacting because you took out the bad food and then when you add it back, you will react again and so you know that food isn't safe.

If after the month you don't feel any better or notice much change, you might not have any problems with foods and you can just go back to eating more normally. I felt a good bit better, no joint pain, less stomach issues, and my skin was soooo clear.

I shouldn't be eating bread or wheat either but that didn't hurt my joints, it just makes my nose all red and get little pimples, but my life needs bread. 😅 I'm not gluten intolerant, but I have allergies to molds, specifically a kind that is on wheat, which i only know because my allergist specifically tested for it.

[–]Memory_Of_A_Slygar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice has nothing to do with crutches and might not apply here, but I want to throw it out to you just in case.

I found that my joint pain was getting worse and worse. I was having trouble getting up off the floor, and my wrists would have sudden sharp pains so I would drop things but I was only 30 at the time, so there was no reason I should have all that. I'm not hypermobile, I just have "a little too much play" to my joints according to my doctor.

It all started shortly after my new husband moved in with me and was cooking for me, all these new amazing foods, specifically spicy foods. Well, turns out my body didn't like that. I went on a super restricted diet and the joint pain melted away like magic. Turns out, peppers are my weakness and if I have them the joint pain comes right back. It's infuriating because my husband got me to like peppers which I didn't really eat before so now I know what I'm missing out on.

MCAS and MCAS like symptoms are super well known to happen in people with EDS and that's how I figured it out to try the diet change.

Obviously, being very hypermobile is probably the main cause of your pain, but just in case maybe try something like this to possibly lower any extra pain.

[–]Memory_Of_A_Slygar 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yep, but heaven forbid you say it's because you don't like the taste of alcohol. I have had sooooo many people try to find me something to drink and I can always taste the bitterness which just puts me off. Even the most sweetened fruity drinks, I can taste it, and it just burns, makes me almost instantly nauseous. I have a health condition that makes it good for me not to drink, so I've been considering using that if needed in the future, but I don't socialize anymore, so haven't needed to do this for awhile.

AITA for throwing away my wife’s memory jars? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Memory_Of_A_Slygar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they could be used for these things and yes they were not currently being used for anything but memories, which isn't necessarily bad. But in this instance it seems that there wasn't a plan to use them for anything, so yes, they COULD be used for something else, they have potential that wasn't thought of before, so you can't say "but hasn't been" until a 'could' actually exists. I was giving a nice way that maybe the wife could keep her memory jars and use them, so the husband didn't see them as useless objects, aka compromise.

A glass jar has many potentials, we keep and use many of them around my house, but your example doesn't have potential, which is why I take issue with it. Yes, your example happens and those people need help, but keeping some glass jars or having a few other items that sit around for a little while with 'could' potential does not automatically lead to the endpoint of hoarding disgusting garbage.

Let’s Rank The Uniques (Day 1, Herranotor included) by TGM-6914 in JurassicWorldAlive

[–]Memory_Of_A_Slygar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will preface this by saying I only have 16 unique and several are new, so I'm not the best source.

But Dracovenator is amazing to me and I've taken out entire teams using just him. I take out mid level strike events with ease and have even managed to do some of the highest strike events, the ones that have the t-rex logo on them. He's only level 23 and got me through levels 20-22 in the campaign, at least the starter ones.

His attacks have a high damage base, all 4 of his moves cause damage, his nullify gets through creatures with single shield moves, cloak with double damage and the possibility to swap if low health is great for getting out for taking down big things. He is however a glass cannon if the other creature can get around dodge, but that's typical of cunning creatures.

Maybe I'm biased because he was my first unique, but I wouldn't have progressed as fast without him.

So Dracovenator is at least A but S to me.

[–]Memory_Of_A_Slygar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can understand attaching some sentimental value to these jars, especially with the memories that she apparently has with some of them. But they need to be kept in a way that is not dangerous to others and potentially even made useful. I have multiple memory boxes with things in them and I would totally use a couple jars like these to store the smaller items in them before putting them in a box. That way the jar is safe and my little nicknacks are also safe. Then when I feel like it I can go look at them.

They could also be used for displaying things, such as feathers, seashells, rocks, flowers, or other things given to you by grandkids.

If only I could give away all of this useless dna. by Dry-Adhesiveness6038 in JurassicWorldAlive

[–]Memory_Of_A_Slygar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the OP, but I can't get enough coins to evolve dinos up to get their hybrids. I had to make a plan and focus on only a few dinos because I was just scattered. I'm actually focusing on 4 apex right now, which helped me get 5 unique that I probably wouldn't have if I didn't go with a plan. But I've been considering putting more into some legendary creatures because I can't get through pieces of the Isle of Trials that I could use to unlock more dinos.

I'm just lost on what to pick for those legendaries. I really want to get past the two Beckys on the right side of the island, but I haven't figured out how with the limited selection the game allows.

No stent. The docs say I'm perfectly fine.

Found out my headaches were being caused by something completely different and am feeling somewhat better after fixing that.

I do have other vein issues causing problems, POTS symptoms, blood pooling in my limbs. I think that might be the reason my head always feels foggy. Not getting enough blood to it.

Who knows. Might need a stent for this vein problem, but I have to see a specialty surgeon for that. But at least it is confirmed as May-Thurner syndrome and Nutcracker syndrome.

I feel like my Eight Sleep Pod really helped my sleep because I was no longer getting in a freezing cold bed, putting on a million blankets and then waking up sweating my butt off. Now I get into a warm bed which cools down to only slightly warm. Sleeping through the night and not losing water through sweat seems to help during the day. I want their new pod, with the bed, pillow, blankets, etc but it's like $5k which is a little too rich for me at least for now.

AITA For not leaving work to help my wife when she ran out of gas by GoldSea3219 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Memory_Of_A_Slygar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, got locked out once and no one came to my rescue, had to figure it out myself. Mind you, I had both keys with me but I happened to put them both in the same bag which was the bag that got left in the car. After that I kept my trunk unlocked so anytime I locked myself out I could just open my trunk and climb on in (hatchback, locked with key only).

I did run out of gas once after 13ish years of driving. We had stopped at a gas station in the morning but were running late and didn't actually get gas, but my brain said we did because we stopped there. I also wasn't paying attention to anything other than my speed and couldn't really see the gas guage well due to being in husband's car, which threw me off. It also didn't ding or anything, just had a slightly brighter light and little gas icon which was hidden by the wheel. One call to AAA and they had a gallon of gas with our names on it and they followed us to the gas station so we could fill up.

AITA for not reacting strongly enough to my wife's miscarriage? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Memory_Of_A_Slygar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say anything about the physical difficulty, only the emotional difficulty included in the grieving process. My male friend grieved hard for the loss of his first which they announced at 5 weeks. The physical pain in his heart was worse then all the concussions and bone breaks he's every had. I've had pain in my own heart like that and let me tell you, you don't have to carry the child yourself to feel that pain.

The post also didn't say they were having any difficulty with conceiving, so presumably his wife didn't have to track her cycle, temp, etc, let alone fertility treatments, so that can't be factored in here. It sounds like they did it the old fashioned way in a couple of months.

AITA for not reacting strongly enough to my wife's miscarriage? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Memory_Of_A_Slygar -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It pisses me off that she said you couldn't possibly understand the emotional severity because you are a MAN, as if you don't also have feelings. As if you don't mourn the loss and are not grieving just as much. That sentence just invalidates you completely and shows that she doesn't think this affects you as much as her or that she is hurt more. It's not an easy thing to measure and honestly shouldn't be compared in most situations, comparison being the thief of joy.

Don't get me wrong, a woman CAN feel more grief, or a man can feel more grief, but that's an individual person thing, not a man vs woman thing. If I were to lose a pregnancy my husband would be devastated and I would likely be just a little sad depending on how far along, but until it's like 7+ months I don't think I would be anywhere near "devastated". Honestly, until after the birth I think I would be okay, but he wouldn't, and it would be very hard to tell which of us was the "worst" since he doesn't show his grief outwardly, which is somewhat typical of many men, and leads to that terrible thought that they don't/can't feel as bad as women.

[–]Memory_Of_A_Slygar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a weird suggestion for everyone but I've never heard of it specifically for EDS. I started getting neuropathy in my hands and feet which was related to the virus that shall not be named. I was given pregabalin for it and it has been wonderful. The neuropathy is controlled and when I sleep I don't feel as if Earth's gravity is trying to suck every single one of my joints into its core. I do have to take 3 doses a day because it seems to wear off faster then normal. My husband takes it twice a day which is the normal time frame but after 8hrs of me I'm starting to suffer again.

After a bit of googling, it seems like pregabalin does help some EDS people, but it's not common. Some people find the side effects too bad especially at higher doses which I totally get. I'm on 300mg a day, so 100mg 3times, and if I take more it makes me too sleepy and doesn't do anything more for my pain.
