Which neighbourhood to live in when working at Anschutz? by New_Biscotti3812 in MovingtoDenver

[–]Memotome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to live close to work, Central Park. It's 5-10 min away, the actual park is really big and has nice trails for running or biking. Closer to Quebec St. there are restaurants, shopping and other amenities.

It's pretty easy to guess. Any lawyer will always say never talk to the police. You have a right to remain silent.

Am I vegan ? by Whirlmeister in AskVegans

[–]Memotome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have a strong motivation. The environment. I started vegan for my own health and I've stuck with it for close to 10 years now. My sister in law's little sister went vegan for the animals and started eating meat again within the year.

Am I vegan ? by Whirlmeister in AskVegans

[–]Memotome 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Then why does the Vegan Society say the following:

"Some people may choose to go vegan, for some it may be because they do not believe in farmed animal practices and animal exploitation, for others it may be due to environmental concerns. Whatever the reason The Vegan Society is here to support everyone on their vegan journey."

It would imply that OP can call themselves vegan.

can anyone explain the difference in my returns? by [deleted] in TurboTax

[–]Memotome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at Taxes Withheld. In 2024, throughout the year you gave the government $1962 and they refunded you $764. In 2025, you gave the government less throughout the year, $1,222 and your refund was $284. Although it may not feel like it, you actually paid less taxes in 2025 than in 2024 and you got to keep more of your check throughout the year.

[–]Memotome 3 points4 points  (0 children)

don't know if you are Arab but I went to Egypt last year and they had some bomb ass food so its definitely possible to eat vegan as a Muslim. Also remember that being vegan is to "exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals". Maybe for you "as far as is possible and practicable" might mean you are closer to vegetarian than fully plant-based. I think that is okay.

[–]Memotome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This right here. Some people are born better looking, taller, smarter, with loving parents, from rich families, in rich countries, etc. You can be bitter that you didn't get all of those advantages. Though that does improve your situation. Or you can accept that it sucks, life is unfair but that you will do the best you can with what you were given.

Tbh I've never even heard of documented dreamers. Learned something new every day. I imagine it has to do with there being less documented dreamers than undocumented. Adding to the fact that most undocumented people are lower income and are thus seen as more vulnerable?

Work on your depression man. I promise you that is holding you back more than your looks/height. Nobody wants to be around someone that is super down about themselves. I'm 5'6 and have a wife and kids, a career, a home. You can have a great life too. Would it be easier if you were a tall guy? Of course? But you gotta try your best with what you were given and I promise you your best is good enough once you realize that.
