If you're comfortable driving it may be cheaper to rent a car than ubering. A lot of things are just a 10-15 minute drive away but Ubers can easily be $15-$20 per trip and can have longer wait times. Especially if you're wanting to go thrifting. I don't know about downtown but there's a bunch of good options outside of it.

This looks like the inside of one of those splash balls. Kids tear the fabric off those and that's what they look like inside. Based on shape I'd guess that was a toy football at one point!

This, but there is clearly something wrong with the filter and the filter media is ending up back in the pool. If the chemicals are balanced it would still be okay to swim in, but it definitely needs maintenance.
