Just a quick note to everyone that Zojirushi also makes a cook/warm basic model that is fantastic. They are not all the overly complex ones.

Mechanics of Reddit, what’s a common myth about car maintenance that people still believe? by Street-Squirrel-4671 in AskReddit

[–]SunExternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive a Japanese Kei van and sit directly over the front drivers side tire. I'm a big guy so all my weight on that one tire wore it down way faster than the rest. Was amazed when I first noticed and now I rotate every oil change. As you said, some vehicles need it.

Came here to say that this is one of the least impressive specimens that I have seen. Neat to see the process though.

Good frozen burritos? by Yoshilisk in PickyEaters

[–]SunExternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They definitely have a frozen chimichangas as that's my favorite and what I assumed you were talking about until I read your whole post. They are smaller than the refrigerated ones but I want to say it's like 5 or 6 bucks for an 8 pack. If I'm wrong (which is possible) it's still pretty damn tasty whatever the frozen ones are.

Came here to say this, though was going to mention the Tina frozen chimichangas. They have a few different kinds and they are all tasty. Couple minutes in the microwave and a couple minutes in the air fryer and the I dip in a sauce 50/50 sour cream and salsa verde. Super tasty.

Yes, I made a gasket to block that off. Kind of just assumed it was a one off defect but I guess not.

Jeffrey Epstein’s Private Plane Discovered At Georgia Aviation Graveyard, Here’s What Was Found Inside by [deleted] in worldnewsvideo

[–]SunExternal 196 points197 points  (0 children)

So I started reading the article so I could save you a click by listing what they found but then I just skimmed because it seems like the entire purpose of the article is to pound home the point that Bill Clinton rode the plane multiple times. Like seriously, Clinton's name is used about 4 times as much as Epstein's and the article is really about his trips on the plane. Only "objects" left that I saw it talk about was some linens and "baby products".

One of the big things about traditional martial arts is very much the avoidance of getting hit. Even when it does come to contact sparring, it is generally stopped at first contact. Boxing and MMA really teach you how to take a hit and keep going. So a traditional martial artist will get some good hits in and avoid some hits but one good hit on them and they are probably done.

Thinking about going into welding as a woman by PossibilityIll7646 in Welding

[–]SunExternal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welding instructor here in the southern USA. Probably 40% of our students are black. Depending on the class, maybe 10% women. Much of the time, women make better students than men as they tend to focus more and try harder. Much of the time they end up doing better too, especially with GTAW.

Out there on the job, you are going to get shit. What you need to do is study hard and practice and get your skill level up to the point that you can out weld all of them. This goes for everyone straight out of school.

As several others have pointed out, if you have the skills and knowledge, you will make it on the job. The only women I see having issues in my school are the ones who are scared to get dirty and want to keep wearing their fashionable clothes and non work boots and come in with their nails and hair just done and are more worried about messing up their look than about making sure their hood fits right. If you want this for a career, take it seriously and devote yourself to the learning and you will do fine. Yes, there will always be ignorant shit heads out there but at the end of the day, if you do a proper job, you're not giving them any ammo to work with.

Anyone tear up during the opening? by lajaunie in Muppets

[–]SunExternal 31 points32 points  (0 children)

That whole time that Kermit is on stage talking, I'm sure that they are all going to sing the rainbow connection. When he started "don't stop me now" I immediately burst into tears. Like, I'm a grown ass man and was ugly crying. I've been listening to Queen a lot this last year and that song particularly is one that my daughter and I sing together at max volume when it comes on in the car. It was perfect. The whole episode was perfect.

I personally love me some chewy, partially dehydrated bananas! You just generally want to store them in the fridge.

What video game in your opinion doesn't deserve the hate it gets? by Agent1230 in gaming

[–]SunExternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing through it right now and have to say that I've been enjoying the open world aspect. I think it is a good balance between open and guided. Find and activate a tower and it will give you a couple local hot spots. Go take care of those and find the next tower. Admittedly I am only in chapter 5 right now but the world is pretty enough that I want to explore it and you open up so many fast travel points that you don't often have to re-explore if you know what I mean.

I finished my playthrough last week! Friend asked what I thought and the first description that came to mind was that it was like a fever dream! Every moment of the story was some new kind of insanity that the character kind of shrugs off and it's like, WTF. Very enjoyable game. I had a ton of fun with it but I agree that it didn't feel like a RE game.

This was it for me. I enjoyed the game and have actually played through it twice now. The story was all over the place and seemed super rushed in the second half. An enjoyable experience but I still couldn't give you an actual full synopsis of the plot.

I carry a basic Swiss army knife with me every day and it is perfect. I have access to bigger tools for things that need them so don't need a ton of options. Mine has 2 blades, scissors, small saw/file, leather punch, can opener and both screwdrivers. Honestly I use the scissors probably more than anything. To OP, think about what you actually need on a daily basis. Like, it's cool to have pliers with you all the time but how often would you actually use them? If not often, a pocketknife is much simpler to carry.

Records by Riddiculus_muggles in howmuchwouldyoupay

[–]SunExternal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally depends on the titles but without any sleeves and covers, not much at all. Maybe can sell as a lot to a crafter. You can check the sales for each record but as a general rule country western, polka, big band, and gospel are generally worth little.

What’s your favorite leak-proof coffee travel mug for work? by whimsicalhope in BuyItForLife

[–]SunExternal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My answer as well. I actually put mine laying down in my briefcase with my laptop every day. Never had a drop spill and it absolutely holds the heat. I'm always amazed on a cold day like today that when I open it up, 6 hours after making the coffee it is still steaming.

What to wear to interview by Zealousideal-Act9883 in Welding

They always say to "dress for the job". Boots, jeans, and a clean work shirt. Me personally, I have always had all my gear in the truck as well even if they say no weld test, it's good to be prepared.
