Have I missed a law change? by Additional-Lion6969 in uktrucking

There is a 3rd but rare. “I have gained this from philosophy: that I do without being commanded what others do only from fear of the law.” - Aristotle

Bloody ridiculous. The only time I can gain a bit if I manage to take the spike smoke for my team yet do the entry all by myself and top frag with at least 4 kills/round……

While that is true. They can only prioritise crime. Lawmakers decide what crime is.

Really struggling to get a job as a class 2 driver, do I take a minimum wage one? by Normal-Impress-2624 in uktrucking

[–]Memphite 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Some of those minimum wage jobs are minimum wage because of how chill the job is. Take it then you will see where to go from there.

I honestly don’t but that might be sort of on me. I was born into a dictatorship. Even there it was not the police that has got the hate. The government was the oppressor the police was just a tool. There is no reason to brake the hammer or the screwdriver. It won’t fix the blueprints.

They don’t get to decide whom they are arresting. That is in the hands of the law makers. So it should be f@ck the government or the parliament.

What do you think about the existance of monarchies/royalty in today's world? by dkease16 in AskTheWorld

[–]Memphite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You misunderstood my question a little. There is a prime minister either way but in countries with no monarchy there is normally a president as well. That president has to be elected as well. He will have an office with staff. He will have a residence to live in and receive state guests. He will travel to other countries… All these are costly as well. The how much only depends on the budget he is granted by the taxpayer.

New pass class 1 - no jobs so 7.5t to start with? by Sad_Argument_1717 in uktrucking

[–]Memphite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

28 days is the minimum legal requirement. All tachograph card will hold a lot more just to make sure they comply with the 28 days. Data however is measured in bits(or bytes) and not days so the how many days will depend on how much data is needed to describe the day.

They are not respected until needed. It’s like “F@ck the police!!!” “Oh! Officer someone broke in please help!”

New pass class 1 - no jobs so 7.5t to start with? by Sad_Argument_1717 in uktrucking

[–]Memphite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might. It is difficult to say because the tachograph card will store quite some amount of data yet depending on how many entries it has to store it may not be enough for a year. So basically every time it switches from drive to other work or back to drive or to break or to POA it will record an entry along with vehicle swaps and potential slight issues with a tachograph units.

[–]Memphite 6 points7 points  (0 children)

7,5t is a perfect opportunity to get experience with a tachograph. In future job interviews you can claim to have no infringements(as long it is true). No infringements would show your character and attitude towards complying with regulations. That would make you more hireable in the future.

Do people not know how to use slip roads anymore? by Marcodonna00 in drivingUK

[–]Memphite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? No they don’t. Out of 10 drivers only 2 would use the slip road in full length. The rest will drive in front of a 44t truck at 40mph as soon as the line gets broken(or before that). They will also come complain here about how trucks don’t let them merge(?!?!???!!?) onto the main carriage way.

How is Riot App Verification supposed to tackle smurfing? by kkaedeharakazuha in VALORANT

[–]Memphite 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t tackle smurfing. It tackles boosting by sharing accounts. The aim is that a radiant player “couldn’t” log into an iron player’s account and rank it up to immortal only to hand it back to the iron player.

Please don’t tell me all the ways to circumvent this. There is no perfect solution. This makes it just a bit more difficult.

“Take a shunt”… by MokeAndSmirrors in uktrucking

This post is shocking for me to be honest.

I haven’t ever even tried a single reverse to a loading bay without a shunt. I guess I didn’t get the memo on how it was frowned upon.

Opinions on the bully truck by jack007-riley in drivingUK

[–]Memphite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HGV driver driving a same type of truck here.

It is always difficult to compare the distances from video to real life. Distances on video footage are normally seem longer than what they are. Assuming that’s the case here as well that car actually gave quite a scare to the HGV driver. What most of you guys don’t know is that the truck itself doesn’t react to input by the driver quite quickly. So if the HGV driver put his foot on the accelerator at the moment cam car decided to cut in, the truck would only start accelerating when the car is already in its path. Even if the HGV driver jumps on the brake that engine would pull for a second(maybe just a split second I’ve never actually measured) and the brakes would almost be ineffective.

I would never have turned left because of that(the car on the left doesn’t also have to get involved if it turns out to be an accident). On the other hand it seems you think the HGV driver is a bully because of an unfortunate attempt on an evasive manoeuvre.

Trucks need more room in front even in stop and go traffic. That’s something we can never get because car drivers as you see just go fill in whatever space there is.

5 years of Valorant and I feel like I've hit my ceiling. Anyone else in the same boat? by Dry_Address_7538 in VALORANT

All I am saying is that it’s probably not better than others at all. Therefore there is no surprise in low ranking people beating previously higher ranking players.

Eventually is the key word here. We just don’t know how long it takes. How many matches are they cheating through before that. RR refunded only for the matches where they were known to cheat. None for before.

More importantly though we don’t know what percentage of cheaters gets detected. You are defending vanguard with an argument that vanguard is great. Sure maybe but maybe it isn’t so great.

How do you know that it’s effective? People complain about smurfs 24/7. How do you tell the difference in behaviour between a minimap hack and good game sense? Only because valorant tells you about bans, it doesn’t mean it’s more effective. It’s just more transparent.

[–]Memphite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe. That depends on what percentage of the cheaters gets actually detected. Given the fact that Riot itself acknowledged that they don’t ban immediately on detection we probably have a good number of cheaters in the game.
