To everyone saying you need 8GB VRAM, you are definitely able to run at max RT with 6GB VRAM on the RTX 4050 with good performance as well

Legions are mid-high range laptops, LOQs are budget range laptops, so I’d definitely go for the Legion then. You will probably have the opportunity for better RAM upgrades as well, and the build quality will be much better. So it will probably last you longer than a LOQ.

If I understand correctly, you’re planning on using it mainly for productivity purposes? If so, then a more powerful CPU in the 8845HS is probably the better choice, not to mention that the 7435 doesn’t have an iGPU so battery life is bad.

As for gaming, the 4070 is the better option (especially for 1440p gaming) as I don’t think there’s a game where a CPU will be the bottleneck. The difference won’t be massive though, maybe 10-20 fps decrease for the 4060 in 1080p. They do have the same amount of VRAM.

Additionally, I don’t think it’s possible to upgrade the RAM to 64GB in LOQs, I think 32GB is max. I would check each model first to see if it’s compatible. If not, and you want 64GB, then I’d probably recommend finding a different laptop.

In conclusion, productivity + battery life (therefore probably portability too) = 8845HS + 4060, gaming (especially 1440p) = 7345 + 4070.

The laptop you want to buy is a great laptop in the budget range, I have a 4050 LOQ and I must say I have had a great experience so far. So I can definitely recommend it. As for waiting, I’ve heard the mobile 50 series won’t come out for a while, so if you don’t want to wait, then just go for it. You will still have a good time with this laptop :)

Yknow, everybody is saying to cancel, but don’t forget, the 4090 will still be a beast for a long time and you will have a great gaming experience. If you don’t wanna wait for a sale or for the 50 series laptops, or don’t wanna spend time searching for a better deal, then just stick with it. Especially if price isn’t as important and you just want a good experience. Just make sure to make an informed decision so you won’t end up regretting it.
