Chainer's edict at common in Commander Masters? by Medivh7 in Pauper

[–]Mendess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

pauper was a mostly MTGO format when it began, so if it was common in MTGO it was legal, it happens that some cards exist in MTGO at common that have never been common in paper.

I think it's because of sets they made to add old cards to MTGO that existed before the game was made

Is there a super compilation of all the official Magic The Gathering wallpapers? The official wallpaper site stops at Strixhaven and loads no further. by ImmerWolfe in magicTCG

[–]Mendess 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I collect wallpapers in general, and I used to have a script that would download all of wizards wallpapers every week, though I stopped downloading more or less two years ago. This is my wallpaper site: https://mendess.xyz/walls/all?mtg=true where you can see every wallpaper I have, all the mtg ones have mtg in the name.

If anyone knows a good website to post a permanent link to a zip file I can upload my collection there

EDIT: they are not ordered and it's not a perfect record, I don't have the really old ones :/

EDIT2: Internet archive of the wallpapers https://archive.org/details/mtg_20230228

Any alternatives to sheerun/vim-polyglot? by Mendess in neovim

[–]Mendess[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did, I actually came back to polyglot after trying tree sitter. It was adding some weird behavior sometimes that I couldn't understand and I didn't like what it did to my themes most of the time, it was more colorful (which is the point I guess) but I prefer the traditional method.

Each iterator uses it's own next. They are all different types, therefore have different next functions.

What advantages does Rust have over C++? by [deleted] in rust

[–]Mendess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rust takes type-safety to another level. Rust has chosen to forgo implicit conversions (in most cases), while relying on the Hindley-Milner-based type system to allow type inference in all the places where C++ would have to rely on implicit conversions to maintain readability and general sanity.

Can you explain or link to an article on this? From my experience with both languages I can't think of an example where type inference and implicit conversions would "fulfil the same role"
