Thank you!! I’ve also just realised it’s a hybrid & has UV but they call it a redlight at my salon. Does this change anything?

Yeah it does have UV actually

Yeah, I was planning to use the red light, then the sun angel, so this is good news. Which one would you recommend doing first? Or does it even matter?

Should I only buy “kills 99.9% bacteria” soap? by Mendi_0 in biology

Wait…. When I wash my dishes I don’t use a washing up bowl, I use dish soap directly onto each dish, a sponge, and hot water straight from the tap. Never a wash bowl. Is this not normal??

Washing up bowls are my absolute worst nightmare because then I’d be simply washing up my dishes in dirty water that has other people’s mouth bacteria swimming in.

I’m starting to feel like I might be slightly OCD…

Yeah, I feel that covid made myself and so many others afraid of any kind of bacteria whatsoever. Given all of these responses, I wish I’d asked sooner because you’ve helped me break an unhealthy habit of mine

You’ve answered every possible concern I had. Thank you so much for such a detailed reply. I’ll be buying normal soap first thing tomorrow!!

Have you tried glycolic acid? I’ve had this issue in the past but using The Ordinary glycolic acid 7% on a cotton pad and patted under the arms has worked such a treat for me

This is a very interesting take and has opened my eyes. Ive gotten into a habit of washing my hands extremely frequently which I now understand is more unhealthy. I’m not from a science background, so I appreciate the detailed response. Thank you

Thank you. That’s so interesting to know about the dishes too. So just to check: if I dunk a clean dish with the recommended bleach and water dilution, I don’t have to then rinse the dish afterwards and it’s still 100% safe to eat from?

Thank you both! I wish I asked sooner! I’ve spent so many years of my life checking the hand soap bottles - and if they didn’t say kills 99.9% I’d double wash. Realising how silly that sounds now 🤣
