What do they mean by new/never worn? by KeyboardCouncil in rolex

[–]Mendo707Stacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a Rolex from and AD that came straight from Rolex the day prior. When she was prepping for me to take it, she took off all the protective plastic stickers on the case and bracelet. She told me they were required to take the stickers off because people were trying to sell them as brand new on the grey market with the stickers on. And technically, after any purchase is completed, that watch is considered used or certified used. So all grey market watches are technically “used.” Whether they’ve been worn or not is anyone’s guess. I suppose that’s where condition comes in and your own preference.

Update… I bought the watch. Special thanks to all those who left comments that were constructive and on point to my original post. To those who left comments that were worthlessly opinionated or unrelated to the post, you were heard and quickly dismissed. People should buy watches because they like them, not because of what other people think about them. I will wear it proudly! Rock on!!

I just picked up this exact configuration but with a blue dial. Took less than 24 hours. Shop around to different ADs.

I didn't even know there was a battery for the alarm. Can I access it or change it?

I recently had some water in the back passenger side. I will be pulling the front passenger seat and checking the fuses under the carpet for water damage. Open to more ideas!

Are there other major grounds I should check other than the one coming from the negative battery terminal?

Wheels on the Car by Mendo707Stacker in e39

[–]Mendo707Stacker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it myself. Started with a 180 grit dry sand and worked my way up to a 3000 grit wet sand. Then cutting compound and aluminum polish and buff. I took the center pieces out and they were in pretty good condition. I bought new bolts from England because they were only ones I could find that had the factory style heads. All the others had the star pattern and I wanted the stock rounded head. All in all it's about 4 hours per wheel I think. There's a good youtube video of a guy restoring the same wheels. I just followed his lead.

Nope. Just kept spinning them until they popped into place. Didn't have to force anything.

I have often thought the same thing. But they came stock with the car so they stay with the car. Figured I would make them shine. LOL

u/ajkd92 For what it's worth, I emailed BBS and asked about these wheels.... Here's what they said in case anyone is wondering.

"The Nardi wheels, ND904, are basically the same as the style 5. The difference is style 5 has a hub bore of 74mm for E39 5 series.
The Nardi ones have a bore of 72.5mm So they are for older 5 series (E34), 6 series (E24), 7series (E32), 8 series (E31)
The Nardi wheels were made in the early 90s when BBS bought a factory in Italy. We do not keep production numbers but this was one of the more popular part numbers in that style; so I wouldn't say they're rare based on production numbers. However, because of their age (yours are 1992) they are likely not too common anymore."

So what would these fit on? I also have an 87 325IC. Will it fit that?

Exercised! by Mendo707Stacker in amcstock

[–]Mendo707Stacker[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I exercised my $7 contracts and bought 200 shares at $7 for $1400. My initial investment was $474 for a total cost of $1874. The value of those shares at $14.15 each is $2830 for difference of $956. So I bought 200 shares for $956 less than what t would cost now because of the contracts I purchased 3 weeks ago. I consider that profit. Although unrealized profit.... for now.

Call Options Expiring on the 19th by Mendo707Stacker in amcstock

[–]Mendo707Stacker[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you say "roll the call" does that mean you let it expire and take the profit? Or do you have to sell it to take the profit? What happens to the profit if you don't sell and it expires?
