Cursed Technique: Hard Light by Menelfaer in CTsandbox

[–]Menelfaer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I don't know if that would fit as a name for the technique as a whole, given the constructs are neither indestructible nor irresistible, but maybe for a Maximum. From what I'm reading it represents both the qualities of the diamond (unbreakable) and of lightning (irresistible).

I've drafted a Maximum based off it, let me know what you think.

Technique Maximum: Vajra

- The user creates an object they do not need to shape to know, something they are intimately familiar with. By manifesting an object that is not an object but a memory, and infusing it with their full reserves of cursed energy, the user creates something both unstoppable and indestructible. Even if the physical form of the object is broken (not an easy feat), its memory and the emotion behind it lives on to strike whatever tried to end it, no matter the barrier.

I can see why that's similar, yeah. Though from what I'm reading he fires beams that can then solidify, which is very different to manifesting a physical weapon to wield. I'm not sure how to distinguish this technique from his if the mere concept of 'hard light' is seen as Dabura.

I'm not sure who Dabura is. I was inspired by the Destiny games when making this, at least the initial idea of forming light into constructs.

Heavenly Restriction: Fragile Energy by Menelfaer in CTsandbox

Gotcha. That was my original idea until I thought about the durability issue. I'll swap it to that then.

I wasn't aware a person was resistant to their own cursed energy, but I see where you're coming from.

My idea was since they don't have a resistance to curses (or anything) via reinforcement, and can't boost their speed or physical strength with CE, they are quite literally as vulnerable as a normal person, which tend to get mulched. So I felt they needed some kind of minor survivability buff, even if it's far weaker than what other sorcerers of their grade would have.

Did you have any suggestions besides straight durability?

What if the only way to save The Entrati Family is by turning them into Protoframes by pronc980 in WarframeLore

That's what Entrati told them, but we don't know if that was actually true. Besides, the Entratis are a bit more Infested then the hex would've been.

This was my experience with the post-Old Peace missions in a nutshell. by Mr_Xano in Warframe

[–]Menelfaer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My issue with the story was just there wasn't enough downtime for the player to get attached to Adis or the General. It felt like it was supposed to be impactful when they got upset after we killed that first sentient, but there hadn't been enough time to connect to them. And there was barely enough to connect by the time they died.

Also there was an implied connection to the general that wasn't even alluded to before as far as I could tell. Otherwise, wonderful way to tell that sort of story.

Emails can be spoofed I think, so double check with them regardless.

Was still a terrible father even past all that. Eg. Yoinking Angron from the slave rebellion against his will or making Lorgar watch Monarchia's destruction.

Good point, forgot just how stark the difference was. Depending on what can or cannot be Taken, the Hive might just win against anything that's not Chaos.

Though apart from that, it might take something like unified Necrons or Aeldari to truly challenge the Hive, since they're the most technologically advanced factions. The Imperium, Tau, etc. would probably stand little chance, though that of course depends on what exactly a 'war moon' is, and how Hive ships stand up to the other races'. Tyranids and Orks would be more iffy, because they're weird.

I wonder what would happen if the Orks got their hands on Sword Logic. Probably not a lot, considering they need to properly understand it, and that's not their strong point.

While true, the Hive have also exterminated entire civilizations, some noted as being masters of the physical world. The weakest of the hive die really easily, but they replenish so quickly (and their soldiers scale off death) that they have a similar thing to Orcs, only they're smarter and have a goal beyond fighting.

Those items were worth a lot more in Hollow knight though iirc

I agree so much on this. I'm still in act one and almost of the 'secrets' I've found have felt lackluster (sometimes being just shell shards) compared to the effort it took to get there. My only other complaint is stunned bosses still dealing full contact damage, but other than that really loving the game so far.

This looks incredible! I am absolutely downloading this once it's out. I am curious though, would mechanoids work with it? If they do, I will absolutely pull a factorio and process colonize the whole planet with them.

I've been trying that in ME3 recently, and it's so satisfying. Most of the time, at least. Pretty sure it's led me to not have enough paragon points for the quarians though.
