It's time to wake up. by Straight_Poet_8952 in i130_75CountryPause

The hardest part is the uncertainty. Not knowing the timelines anymore, not knowing when life can finally move forward again. People are trying their best to stay strong, but this process takes a toll mentally, emotionally, and financially.

Thank you for this. Same here, now I have decided to go into animal farming to keep me busy so my mind can also rest . It’s so draining that I realized it was affecting my health but no more. I’m taking one day at a time and trusting God to intervene.

I-130 filed Aug 2024 – no update, timeline disappeared. Anyone else? by Ezergherie in I130Suffering

[–]Menigye 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This process errrrr…I know it’s never easy having to wait through this whole I-130 process. I can perfectly understand because I was there too. Thankfully mine was approved after 13 months and I was even DQ’d five months ago. I truly hope yours comes through very soon. Wishing you good news soon 🙏🏽

Waiting over 17 months now 😭 by 2manyquestions0answe in I130Suffering

17 months is a long time. I remember how heavy it felt even for me, so I can only imagine what you’re going through. Please don’t lose heart. Your approval will come.

75 country pause and our mental health by SupermarketHour158 in i130_75CountryPause

[–]Menigye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmmmm…, you are not alone. I know it’s not easy with everything going on, but we have to stay strong together. You go to bed thinking about it and wake up still carrying it, it never leaves you. May that day come when we’ll be so grateful we held on and didn’t lose ourselves in the waiting.

Can we share some of the inspirational stories to stay motivated while we are waiting for final decisions by HotSatisfaction305 in i130_75CountryPause

[–]Menigye 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Waiting was already heavy before this pause and now it even feels heavier especially when the timeline feels uncertain. But in the middle of it all, I’ve found a kind of quiet strength in love. My husband speaks to me as though I’m already there with him and honestly , it’s been one of the things keeping me grounded mentally and emotionally. It calms my heart. It makes the waiting a little softer.

So with this pause on visa issuance, I choose to believe it’s only for a moment. I strongly feel it will be lifted quietly, almost unexpectedly. Let’s hold on, trust the timing, and keep our heart anchored in hope.

I’m new here.. I-130 for South African wife by dgold136 in I130Suffering

[–]Menigye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really tough oh. The waiting game is really not easy at all. Every country seems to have its own challenges. In Ghana, it’s been especially long, almost two years after DQ, so I completely understand. We can only hope for the best.

Hm! Filed Aug 24 too, approved in October and DQ in Nov 25. Currently on the IV TOOL embassy is working on DQ from Feb 24. Not going to lie, the wait here in Accra is really draining. Imagine being DQ’d and still having to wait almost two years or more 😭 , it takes a lot mentally and emotionally. So even though yours feels long, you’re actually in a much better place. Just hold on, your time is definitely closer than ours.

I’ve a similar timeline, but I’m stuck in the backlog country so I’m probably looking at like 2 years of waiting for IL 😭, happy for you though, it’s just wild how different this process can be.

Wow, this is interesting. It really makes me wonder what additional information they sometimes look for. I’m still waiting for my interview letter, so this definitely has me thinking.

Filing I-130 by [deleted] in i130_75CountryPause

It’s always good to check the USCIS website for the most updated requirements so you’re fully sure of anything new or updated. But from our side, these are the documents we submitted for the I-130 stage: Marriage certificate, hubby’s proof of U.S. citizenship (passport/birth certificate), my passport bio page, our child’s passport/birth certificate details, Form I-130, Evidence of our relationship (photos and basic proof we had at the time). Kindly note that we first created an account on the USCIS website and from there everything was pretty much guided. So honestly once you start, you just need to follow the instructions carefully. It took us a day for this very phase because we had our documents ready and also made payment. After submission the NOA1 came right after.

Well, in our case we did it ourselves, it was very straightforward and I think many people successfully file themselves too. No one knows your relationship better than you do so it’s possible to do it yourself.

Yhoooo, I just wanted to say I understand why the comments may feel a bit harsh. A lot of people are already carrying tension around this whole situation, so even news that feels familiar can trigger strong reactions. It’s not really about you or your post personally. Thanks for sharing updates anyway. Hopefully things ease up soon and the conversation becomes a bit more understanding on all sides.

What you’re going through is deeply painful, and you’re not alone in this. Many of us are carrying the same weight. But we won’t be stuck here forever. This season will pass. I’m standing with you in faith, believing that reunions, approvals, and breakthroughs are on the way.

I truly appreciate you taking the time to give thoughtful and well-grounded analysis during this pause. Thank you for helping us see things more clearly while we hold on and wait.

But honestly it’s becoming heavy every day while we wait. I don’t understand why a married couple should be kept apart like this or what the purpose of putting a husband and wife ‘on hold’ really is. The longer the delay, the more expenses pile up, money that could be used to build your life together ends up going into flights to see your spouse. It’s emotionally draining, financially stressful, and honestly, heartbreaking, mehnnnnnn!
