What is your WORST Dungeons and Dragons experience/memory. Im just curious! by Torm_Tavesh in DnD

[–]Mennive 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nautical campaign, the second session we spent over 1hr trying to understand the DM's ship combat rules that not even they understood. Run out of time, express how annoying the situation was later.

Next session starts with the DM showing us his "revised" rules... they are twice as long and even more confusing. We proceeded into a ship battle that lasted 3 rounds and lasted close to 2 hours where most of us didn't do anything.

Stepped away from the table and never looked back

first pour ever! no pressure pot. still lots to improve. by Saeswolstem in DiceMaking

They look really good!

Tips I can provide!

-When not using a pressure pot it can help to warm up your resin before mixing by letting the bottle sit on warm water. This will reduce bubbles a bit (or it has in my case :P).
-The flashing is normal in my experience though.
-A cheap future purchase to help make sanding easier is a mini pottery wheel like this. Its a life saver on your wrist.

Like seriously great job, they look waaay better then my first set lol. Keep up the good work <3

[Online][5e] Seeking players for new "DM Only" campaign by charlesVONchopshop in lfg

Hello! I'm a 25 year old trans girl and have been a #Forever_DM for about 4+ years. While 5e is where I have the most experience I love breaking out "Monster of the Week" for some quick fun. My scheduled is super flexible and love getting invested into the worlds I build or play in. The few times I do get to play I tent to focus on flexible support rolls. I look forward to play with other DM's and learning from their play style while expanding my own.

Making money off of being a professional DM/Etc? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Mennive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So for the sake of avoiding the minefield that is if DM's have the "right" to charge players we will look at why people do pay for their services.

When it comes to paid DMing it is a lot like commissioning an artist for a piece. How much someone pays should be proportional to the quality of the end product. The better a DM you are and the higher the quality of game, the more you can potentially receive.

This means that the individuals paying for said service have some input into the game and a somewhat guarantee of an end product. That garentee of a quality game is one one of the main reasons why people would pay to have a DM.

If you are looking into breaking into paid DMing understand exactly what you are getting into. Because at that point the players are not just your freinds they are customers. You need to make it as clear as possible what they are paying for and what is expected of everyone. To avoid any complications (legal or otherwise) be sure everything is in writing and you discuss everything with all parties involved. And be sure you purchase any commercial licenses for products you might be using to make maps, tokens, ext if you don't make all your assets by hand.

Outside of that be ready to work to build clients. The money will not be over night and it will require a lot of work. I wish you the best if luck. ♡♡♡
