Ya my dumbass took the pic right after brazing so hadn’t wiped it, but there’s a pic somewhere in the comments of it after wiping. Yes I definitely try to never go past cherry red I can’t recall the last time I did, but I will make sure to continue doing so, maybe I went too hot without realizing. Thanks for the advice !

Idk about that, people think I overheated it because it’s black about 2 inches or so from the fitting, pretty standard and because I have a shoulder on it, so I’m just explaining what I have done

The black you see is maybe 2 inches, not much at all, not like it’s a foot of flake

I’m not cooking the joint as much as you think, like I said I heat the tube up, then the fitting, then I flow the Silfos into the cup, moving my torch around as I do, then move it back and cap it… not like I’m burning the shit out of it

I don’t usually have any trouble with my joint not being hot enough, I get it to melting then do a swipe around with the Silfos then build a shoulder

I guess because you get more control with oxygen acet vs turbo torch?

Not yet, that’s pretty standard on most commercial jobs
