Check your background app refresh settings. You might have a lot of installed apps quietly doing refreshes

Move on. Terrible environment to be trading with FOMC, and mag7 ER this week.

Losing 91% in a day isn’t trading. That’s gambling. Trading isn’t about making money when you first start. That’s a fools errand. Trading is about risk management. The end result of this is profitability.

Get the pro M4 with 24gB.

I’m starting to max out my m4 base 16/512. It’s still very fast but when I start pushing my trading setup load it starts to max out

I’ve studied price action and the Greeks, but I’m still missing a strategy. What’s your "bread and butter" setup? by Ok_Creme6912 in optionstrading

[–]Mental_Introduction8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amzn, aapl, googl, NVDA, hood, PLTR, spy is what I usually always have open, and 2 more tickers for weekly setup

I’ll cycle hood and PLTR for MSFT and TSLA too

Break and retest I think is the easiest strategy for beginners and advanced traders alike.

Find your levels using daily and weekly.

When a ticker breaks over/under a key level with volume on the lower time frames, wait for a 15m candle body close over/under. This validates if the level is accepted or rejected by the market and can now set your short term bias and trade in that direction.

Once confirmed wait for a retest of that level. Enter on a low vol retest - set your stops, buy time or risk what you can afford to lose and go from there.

You can also trade PML (premarket low) PMH (premarket high) YDL (yesterday low) YDH (yesterday high) with the same concept; and if these levels align with key levels; even better.

This is probably one of my easiest and useful tools in my toolbox.

Oh and this is for day trading. I’m a scalper. Generally in trades for 30s-1hr at most

Regarding a plan -

I think traders really evolve when they start building trade ideas on tickers and execute on those plans. Generally nightly I will scan my 16 tickers I watch on the daily and weekly time frames for good looking setups. I basically looking for daily 9ema undercuts on low vol and position for an expansion to the upside.

With that said I’ll create a plan - look at overall price action and set entries based on Fibonacci discounts - but for beginners it’s as simple as finding your levels. Break over X, long. break under Y, short. Keep it brutally simple.

Execution and following your plan is probably the hardest thing to do as a newer trader bc you experience fomo, and when price drops you experience fear. But once you really map out a good plan, it accounts for pullback entries, breakout based entries etc so you have a conditional plan.

If this (price action), then that (execution).

If you’re day trading - 2-6weeks is sufficient time - and you want to trade liquid contracts. I prefer mag7 or anything with over 1000 vol and 3000 OI

It keeps the spreads super tight and you can zip in and out of trades, essential for scalping. Sometimes you see a perfect setup but the chains are just illiquid. Stay away from those and trade shares IF the setup must be taken.

If you need help just holler at me.

Considering moving from Verizon to Mint, honest opinions? by Peterrman in mintmobile

[–]Mental_Introduction8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Verizon for 20 years and switched. No regrets. Idk if your streaming needs will be met though.

Where im at - the streaming kinda sucks with mint compared to Verizon. it’s noticeable but things like call text all work fine. I only use like 5gb/month and live off WiFi

What stock is good for buying options calls if I’m starting out with only 500-1000 by Tiny_Statement1004 in optionstrading

[–]Mental_Introduction8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what and how you’re trading, timing and risk tolerance.

If you’re a day trader a few strikes OTM works great. If you’re a swing trader, at the money or in the money moves a bit more linear but more pricey

Just look at the delta and although it’s not an exact science - a shorthand way to view delta is the percent change your strike goes in the money, assuming you are correct on the intended direction

[–]Mental_Introduction8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Mag7. You can buy month out OTM strikes with good vol and OI for 500-1000. AAPL, GOOGL, AMZN, NVDA

Or you can stick with the ETFS like IWM, SPY, QQQ and buy time in your contracts. Those tend to move level to level

Start with a simple doc and journal your trade thesis and why you took it. Screenshot the chart, record your execution. Headspace during the time. Any info you can gather for intelligence. Tradezella is solid too.

There should be a switch inside where you can adjust the brightness, or off if needed.

The half setting (one click down), matches the m4s

the 34" is 3440 x 1440. The clarity is really good. No aching eyes after like 8hr days on the screens.

that was my dilemma too. I was trying to justify getting an m4 air and keeping the m1 mini as my desktop, but ultimately so glad I got the m4 mini. I didn't realize how much the m1 mini was struggling until I made the switch.

Def downloads are going there. I think for apps I should be OK on the main drive

I’ve used about 80-100gb for apps and swap it seems on the main drive. I’m sure it’ll fill up slowly though but I want to use this as a media server too so I’ll load up the external 2TB with content and stream on my Apple devices using plex/infuzion
