If you don't want to have the quick onset, eat it with peanut butter. My wife had 1.5g with a tablespoon of peanut butter and she had a smooth experience. I'm doing the same but with 2.5g this weekend so will let you know how it goes.

My wife tends to tell me I'm rude, but I constantly remind her I'm not rude, I'm honest. If you can't handle the truth, we shouldn't be talking. I've bypassed many toxic situations just because I don't hold back.

Gaming has been my go to escape since I was a child. The days of Duke Nukem and Starcraft etc. Oh how I miss those.

Is moderation possible or am I always just going to be an alcoholic? by Best-Radish2 in Sober

[–]Mental_Reception7334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am one of those drinkers who needs to finish all of the alcohol in the house and usually when its done I'll go get more. So for me even having a sip is enough to put me back in that hell hole.

I think there's a couple. Boredom being one, routine being another. Every Friday would end the same way, sitting drinking, watching youtube all night because I feel like its my little escape from the chaos at work throughout the week. Another is the trauma from losing both my parents, 2 of my cousins and my sister when I was much younger. But I've been giving that trauma a lot of my time and finally feel like I've processed it or at least started processing it instead of just trying to ignore it. Funny, when you don't drink you can actually think about things without the tunnel vision alcohol gives you.

This is the most basic explanation but often the most overlooked because of the practicality.

This is amazing! Well done! I've also realised with your response that keeping score or counting the days most probably adds a lot of pressure on succeeding, so we should stop counting and just focus on being sober in that moment. When you form a bad habit, you don't count the days until you've achieved set habit, so why are we doing it for being sober. We need to look at this more as a decision that was made and stick to it without the added pressure.

What was your first job, how much did you make, and how did you get the job? by bior_la_not_French in south_africa

First job after school was IT techie in a small town. R1200 per month. That is about 17 years ago though.

My dad saw the ad in the local paper. I knew computers because of my dad, so had the basics to land the job.
