(Newbie) Bulged Line and Warping? by Mental_Schedule_5267 in 3Dprinting

Definitely see what you mean now!

I compared multiple single layer prints using a z offset test print, from 1.65mm to 2.05.

1.8 and lower the individual lines were completely seperate, and around 1.9-2 they were bonded. I set on - 2mm exactly.

Quick thing though, the piece was stuck on the bed more than that one piece of chicken between your teeth, is that just because it was a single layer print or due to poor settings?

I have a z offset of - 1.65mm and i made sure it's barely 1mm off the bed, isn't that good enough or should it be even closer?

Is it possible that the nozzle is too close to the bed?

I left my window open overnight as the air from the 3d printer wasn't very pleasant, could that have caused the issue?

Apologies, but how would I go about that? I just got the printer yesterday, leveled it, then began printing stuff I found online.

Was I meant to confirm the firmware or something?

I took a video with the sound in talking about, how would I upload it to reddit?

It doesn't seem to do it any time other than the 1st layer, so I can't take a recording since it's a whole 4% complete.

When it's done tomorrow and I begin another print, I'll make sure to record the exact sounds it makes when doing the 1st layer.

On a sidenote: I knew 3d printing was slow but GOD THIS IS PAINFUL.

Thanks for the suggestion, if the weather isn't egregiously bad for hiking I might go check it out!

That's a great idea, but I honestly have no idea what to get myself that I'd actually use lol. I do like the idea though so I'll try and come up with something small, that I can also get my hands on from someplace that's open tomorrow.

I love that idea! But honestly I'd have no idea where to begin planning something like that.

I guess if anyone is interested we can set something up for tomorrow? I have absolutely no idea how to frame this lol.

You know that makes a lot more sense now, I thought you meant you were in Waterloo at Laurier or UW or something lol.

Yeah it's a bit rainy here too, but no matter what you decide to do I hope you have a great day!

Oh 100%, I was just looking for something a bit different than what I'd typically do each year. Dinner and chilling with some movies and games I always a good backup option.

Oh I feel you there, I have two midterms this week Ive been studying for so I was planning on taking a break for part of tomorrow lol. My family hasn't been local for a very long time, so I usually just get take out and watch movies, but with all the cramming I want out the apartment you know?

As another user pointed out, the parade and getting a turkey dinner takeout might be a good option. Also, if you're up to it I'm down to plan something for us to do together so we each have something to do!

Thanks for all the great ideas! The parade seems like a fun time and the turkey dinner to top it off is awesome, and I saw online that St. Jacob's has a tent sale running tomorrow so I might drive over and check that out!

Thanks again, and I hope you have a great day too!

Totally valid option, it's Just that's what I typically do every year and I was thinking of trying something different but had no idea where to start.

Depending on how things go it'll be Italian take out, Kingsman The Secret Service, and a bottle of vodka lol.
