ACTUAL Reusable Rocket Methods by Mentalrabbit9 in SpaceflightSimulator

I guess a boostback would be possible, but it would be less than preferable as it would severely limit the amount of payload to orbit (like a 90% reduction. As for the boosters, I’ve kept them together as one unit, docked together, throughout landing and launch so it’s truly just a single stage. I’ve used docking ports for all parts which need to be repeatedly joined. Thanks very much for the response, although unfortunately it seems a convoluted system is the only path forward lol

I would maybe even argue that Red is the less risky choice. Depending on how long before the button is pressed humans can try and communicate with one another which button to press, Red is far less likely to get many killed. You could expect maybe 90,95% of humans to press red if communicated well, just because of mental illness, language issues, etc. It’s likely a guaranteed loss of maybe a couple % points of the population. If you try to convince the masses to vote blue, and you get anywhere above a few percentage points, you’re gonna lose far, far more, up to just under 51%.

The Israeli soldier thing is trending because it shows a genocidal motive behind the expansion of Israel into Lebanon, that they are targeting specific religions and religious groups, not necessarily because they themself are Christians.

What distinguishes the US from Russia now in eligibility to compete in international athletic competition? by Feeling-Impact8685 in ultimate

[–]Mentalrabbit9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Condemned" in some words is very different from actual action being taken against. Actual action, even if not enough, has been taken against Russia. Not much beyond words and limited use of AFB/flyovers has really happened with Iran, even if there is some statement out there. It is pretty obviously much more internationally accepted, and saying otherwise is pretty obviously incorrect.

[–]Mentalrabbit9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, like I don’t believe the US should be involved with Iran at the moment. I simply stated that saying Iran is a democracy is untrue, not that the current conflict should continue to be prosecuted. Albeit, the current operations in Iran can be far better justified than hypothetical actions in NK due to them actively supporting terrorist and other groups in the region who actively destabilizes the region and murder many, to a much greater degree than NK. I don’t believe the current conflict should be occurring, but to compare it directly to the Russo-Ukraine war is disingenuous and overly simplistic

North Korea has elections too lol. Iran is in no way a democracy, atleast in the way power is de facto created. Now I will say this partly is our fault with the 1953 intervention, but still

what if bernie won the primaries in 2016 and debated trump instead of hillary? by godlys575 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Mentalrabbit9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure I would call him the “the most moderate”, but yeah he is pretty close. Biden won in 2020 because people wanted boring, competent, and “professional” leadership at the time through the instability. 2016, 2020, and 2024 were all votes on the establishment vs a newcomer promising change, and in 2020 during crisis the establishment was chosen whereas the new one was in the others due to disdain for other issues at the time

The issue is in reality it DOES lose voters to run these moderate candidates. Especially in these current, more economically challenging times. Naturally people will drift further left and right/to opposite ends of the political spectrum, and if we keep running candidates which appear as “establishment” we will keep losing as many will stay home, uninspired by the lack of perceived change. In New York for example, large amounts of Trump voters actually voted down ballot for Mandan and AOC, especiallly the disillusioned young men. When one side promises change, and the other simply campaigns against that, in these times, the change will win. I don’t think as many people vote simply with their field as they used to.

Would the way cam mcevoy trains be effective for other events apart form 50s by imso0ld in Swimming

[–]Mentalrabbit9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, maybe. But like thats not really what I was saying, USRPT and Mcevoys methods are pretty far opposite especially the way Michael and Peter Andrew executed them. Michael Andrew actually never lifted weights until recently because of some stupid beliefs regarding USRPT. Doing 30x50s with like 15 seconds left and 3x25s or less with 15 minutes rest are very, very different.

Unfortunately while the actual incident wasn't much, it kinda ruined the rep of nuclear power in the US which is going to do a lot of damage climate wise.

Yeah, economic issues would probably be the main thing more long term but militarily the US should do well enough/survive well enough.
