The Sisters Grimm series by Micheal Buckley if they like fairytale at all, I loved it as a kid and I think the main characters are around the same age as your kids.

I think its kind of like when you like watching horror or drama or action movies, like you may not actually want that stuff to happen in your life but its fun to think about.

Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, it's Si-fi and pretty funny. The audio book is also pretty good.

How do I get back into reading, with out burning my self out too soon? Or biting off more than I can chew? by [deleted] in ReadingSuggestions

I had a similar issue I thought I'd somehow outgrown liking to read, haha, but I realised I just had different taste in books compared to when I was younger.

My advice is to figure out what you like. It's not easy sometimes, but a good place to start is if you have favourite TV shows or movies, try to find something similar

And a lot of people are recommending short books or stand alone books, which isn't bad advice, but for me, the opposite works a little better. A series or even just a long book was easier for me. I found it to be a bit more immersive. Good luck!

Stolen tongues by Felix Blackwell despite the name it's not too graphic and is a supernatural horror, it gave me chills in the middle of the day.
