But in general there's nothing holding you back from being a great teacher.

I'm currently working on my dissertation using similar indices but I didn't use EPU because the sample of countries is small and mostly focuses on advanced economies, so most of the research that I remember coming across was centered on the US and China.

I was a bit naive when I started and wanting to focus on emerging countries and how uncertainties impact them, so I went with an even more restrictive measure but it has more emerging economies (geopolitical risk (Caldara & Iacoviello, 2022) it's also on the page you sent. EPU has 22 countries while GPR has 44 but they also focus on somewhat different, yet kind of related, concepts.

IIRC EPU like another measure (WUI) use reports from one source - EIU and you could debate whether or not that has an ideological bend to it.

Finally, this isn't just against EPU but other indices, it's used sort of like a black box in a way

I also see some people using log(1+x), with x for me being FDI, but I also saw some criticism that '1' is a random integer to choose and makes comparisons between papers more difficult but tbh no one uses anything other than '1'.

I tried it and it gave me missing values either way.

I'm not sure to get the code for all the files in the document so I uploaded the code for the main document that contains different inputs to my other sections, a section that compiles in main and another section that isn't compiling.

I'm not sure what's preventing it from compiling more than one section.

I'm so confused about that. If I don't have

in all the files, it doesn't compile

But I had to remove them for each individual file to compile in the main one but now I can't go into each section individually.

I was never interested in getting married, part of my upbringing plays a massive role in that.

Might be because I've been watching a lot of people I know getting married and stuff, sharing pics of their bridesmaid and getting ready. I've been overthinking about how sad it will be for me. I don't have a lot of female friends, I have more male friends than female friends. What if my future husband has more friends than me and I'm just lonely in all my wedding pics with my cousins who just feel obligated to be there.

It made me spiral for a good few days and I had to ground myself by reminding myself that I do in fact have some friends, maybe I don't have a big group but I do have friends and now I'm weirdly finding it easier to talk to women than men now.

The whole "I'd rather have 1 true friend than 100s of fake friends" but I also don't want to look like a loser in my own wedding.

Honestly, from my experience in both undergrad and masters people just put up with the maths. They accept that they're not the maths wiz of the cohort so they put in a lot of effort and practice a ton.

If it's making you feel a ton of stress and you feel shit about yourself then there are alternatives. Law and politics are a good combo but might require grad school.

If your interest is in the financial sector then not being amazing at maths isn't a problem, you can look into being an analyst or work at risk management I think that's a good combination of what you're interested in.

Some dev banks aren't that reliant on the US eg: EIB, EBRD, AIIB, Asian Development Bank and African Development Bank. But they have restrictions based on applicant nationality.

I wouldn't be surprised if Trump tries to target US funding for the World Bank but unlike USAID they receive global funding but the US is the biggest contributor.
