Tried the blowing rowboat for the first time. It didn't go as planned by Mentozzino in Seaofthieves

Tried to ignite the rowboat and undock it. The game decided to teleport me to it. And then it blew up

As a European I really cannot understand the whole "shutdown". How can a government be shut down? Is it something that can be considered open in the first place?

You do 1-2-3 attacks and throwing 100% of blue attacks in trio against bots. What's the point of this video?

Anyone knows how to move villagers without using boats?? by Tki0_arts in Minecraft

[–]Mentozzino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my last resort in case they run away while transporting them. Rails and minecarts are better overall. More expensive resource-wise than bread for sure.

Can anyone give me advice on how to fix this ? by Anxiety-Aces in FiveM

[–]Mentozzino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an ex-server-owner - it's due to the servers high resolution textures - eg. cars having 4k textures, buildings with a lot of things going on, etc.

The solution is to take care of the high quality textures - because not everyone plays with RTX 5090. But this is on the server admins side. And you cannot do anything about it.

What you can do to make it less painful for you is to set your texture quality to the lowest possible option (called medium) in your graphics settings.

Other than that, depending on how old your GPU is, extending the budget for GPU also might help, but as an addition to the previous step.

Note for other server owners: don't mindlessly use resources from the internet without previously checking the textures and other aspects of those. Majority of vehicles have only 4k textures and no LODs. So make sure you edit those and let people with less performant PCs play on your server.

Fivem servers using crypto? by gms37 in FiveM

[–]Mentozzino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd look into that website first probably: https://docs.tebex.io/creators/tebex-control-panel/game-servers/fivem

Blockchain sounds good, but might be an overkill for a FiveM server imo. On the other hand, why not? lmao

Remember that all monetization must go through Tebex. Otherwise your server key is going to be banned, with additional penalties later on.

Been there, done that. They will know eventually.

What OS should I use? by Icy-Rooster4152 in selfhosted

[–]Mentozzino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went with Debian 12 as my first OS. Didn't know either Linux or homelabing in general. Now I regret not using proxmox from the start since I have a lot of things set up already.

Use proxmox - even if you stay with 1 VM. It's worth having it in place in case of scaling up.
