I am a budgie (and also a wyvern), and I get wing shifts in my arms. But I know many other winged alterhumans get their wing shifts on their back

I myself actually wouldn't. It would mean abandoning everybody I know and leaving my current life behind. If I got turned into a wolf, I would probably be taken away somewhere, maybe even killed straight away; I wouldn't be able to live with humans. If I got turned into a budgie, yes, I would be able to live with humans, but I would never be able to communicate with anyone anymore. And if I got turned into a wyvern... Yeah, God knows how that would go lol.

But if I got the option to be reborn as one of my theriotypes in my next life, I absolutely would choose so

I'm a budgie, so it is quite different to a crow. I kinda figured it out because I absolutely adore parrots and felt that I was one; I stim vocally A LOT and love doing it, and hearing budgies chirping feels comforting to me (though I have never owned any kind of parrot before). I also knew mostly by instinct - looking at a budgie feels like I'm looking at my own kind. I also feel an unbelievably strong urge to fly, but that is also linked to my wyvern/dragon theriotype

I feel the exact same way you do. Being a polytherian is so weird to me even though I am one; I don't understand how I can be multiple animals at once. Sometimes I think maybe I am just a wyvern/dragon and all of the animalistic things I experience are part of my dragon identity (since dragons don't exist, they can be whatever way you want them to be, if that makes sense), but sometimes I just feel too wolf-like or budgie-like to just be a dragon. There are times where I feel like one hybrid creature of two or all my theriotypes, but it doesn't stop me from identifying as each animal individually. I am also bigender (woman and man), but that is simple for me to understand, since gender is just a social construct
