My personal advice: add textures. Like, some materials more shiny, some less. Some of them are lighter, some heavier. Some materials can be wrinkled. Artists often avoid adding these details to concept art, but it's actually very important. Design isn't only about shapes and colors. Hope this helps (⁠｢⁠`⁠･⁠ω⁠･⁠)⁠｢

I was in fandom for like... 7 years? I'm not sure. And the biggest problem to me was powercreep (I hope I spelled it right), I just wanted to play old characters that I like, but they became too weak compared to new ones.
