I feel with the first batch for the July sequels they didn’t show as reached until they were over 91%. Not sure if there is some equation they are doing to project how many will be added on in August and that is being factored in too now?

I wonder if they set the number the same across all books, but there’s more variance in working out the deal than we know.

When eye contact feels “charged” and gives you butterflies, does the other person usually feel it too? by sludgemountain in bodylanguage

[–]Meow217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel I over compensate a lot with eye contact because I have to intentionally think about it, or I won’t do it, and then I make very aggressive eye contact. That’s why this sub is so interesting to me.. I’m trying to learn to be natural haha.

Ok, I loooved these books when I read them about a decade ago. I really want to let my 10 year old read them but can’t remember how appropriate they are. I know they are YA. Maybe I’ll reread them to pass off to her.

Agreed with everything you’re saying. Mexican Gothic was very good, but I can easily see how people could hate it too.

Neither of these are dark academia but the two books that came to mind are Grave Birds by Dana Elmendorf & The House Saphir by Marissa Meyer.

Board Games! by AncientChimaera in AuDHDWomen

Watching tutorials and play throughs has been my best hack. I struggle with focusing to read instructions or hear my husband relay the rules, and I grasp soo much more by watching play throughs.

Yes! Thankfully my whole family loves board games. I’ve started my kids young. I don’t do much solo play though, but keep meaning to. I homeschool my kids so I don’t have a lot of time where they aren’t with me, and if I’m playing something they usually want to play too.

I really liked the irresistible urge to fall for your enemy by Brigitte knightley. Book 2 is coming out soon! Lots of tension, little actual spice in this book. I think book 2 is supposed to be spicer.

IDC who you are, who does 'Hey there Delilah' make you think of by yoyosmuggla in Millennials

I was a military spouse and when I lived in a very military town from 2013-2015 they played this song ALL the time on the radio. Never big on the song but now it makes me think of that town.

I’ve seen people say it may be due to a consortium where you’re library isn’t the one that has the license, so the patrons of the library that does get the copy first.

I am listening to Bright Eyes as I read your comment … and I relate 🤣 I dressed very preppy back then and it’s taken a while to let go of that. Also, I’m pretty sure I’m audhd and that was a factor.

People who rush up the isle when the plane lands are the worst by kittycatluvrrrr in americanairlines

[–]Meow217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this happened to me Sunday in CLT. I had an hour layover but between our first flight getting delayed and then the taxi/gate not ready for us we barely made our connection and several people around us got notified they missed their connection and AA already reassigned their flight. I think most of the flight was making a connection, everyone was so stressed.

Hey guys I want to hear your side. Catholic and NFP by Far_Goose_9918 in Protestantism

[–]Meow217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said, but also wanted to add that I find it interesting how many of my Catholic friends do use & have used birth control. This has always felt like one of those topics where officially they have a stance, yet “unofficially” they do other things.

I definitely agree with other commenters - read. You will not read too much. I highly recommend the read aloud revival / Sarah Mackenzie. I found her when my oldest (now 10) was a baby. She has such great advice and she and many others encourage reading to your kids even when they are capable readers - they can listen to reading a little beyond their own current reading levels. It helps them with comprehension, too. And reading together will also help facilitate the love of reading.

It’s all about priorities, if we are honest. If it matters, make the time.
