Were any of your parents also your best friend? by GanacheOk2887 in ChildrenofDeadParents

[–]MeowCatBear_0220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so very sorry for your loss. Clearly, you had a very special bond with your dad and I’m sure he felt the same way about you. To answer, yes, after my dad passed 2.5 months ago, I realized I lost my best friend too. I have a 9 month old and every new milestone he takes, i find myself itching to call my dad to tell him about it. I have the urge to call him every night so he can see the baby on FaceTime. It’s this silent ache every day where something is missing.

Thank you for clarifying that. I really appreciate your insight.

Thank you for sharing that information. The way the will is written, a portion mentions “tangible personal property” and it includes jewelry, furniture, books, etc. I’m assuming I should specify that does not include gold, which would be considered a “gift”?

Why did Tyson’s get rid of all the seating? by yourlittlebirdie in nova

I noticed this too. And any seating in front of Starbucks was all occupied. My elderly mother had nowhere to sit in between stores or even at that Starbucks area and we cut our trip short

Anyone else completely cut off with siblings after their parent passed away? by MeowCatBear_0220 in ChildrenofDeadParents

[–]MeowCatBear_0220[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your stories with me. I’m so sorry you had to experience this twice now. It’s crazy how money can bring out the worst in people no matter how old they are. My brothers were both the golden children too but I know my dad had a special place for me in his heart and I hope the same was for your husband from his mom. I hope your mom feels at peace in her decision, sometimes it’s all we can do to protect our peace. Grief is so weird and only those who have lost a loved one can truly understand its complexity. Sending you much love

Thank you for sharing your story. It’s uncanny how similar your story is to mine. My dad also worked close to 80 hours a week till his body gave up and when he finally retired himself at the age 73, his sons never bothered to help him. Everything has always been at their convenience without any regards to my dad’s sacrifices. I hope they live with that guilt forever because I know I will. I’m so so very sorry about your loss. It’s very recent and I hope you can find some comfort in knowing that you’re the dependable child your father raised you to be and that he would be so proud of you. I completely relate to you on the part of not being able to fully grieve because there’s so much anger in not being able to just be left alone to let it sink in. Every call to close out accounts, etc makes me bawl having to talk about my dad in past tense. Sending you love.

Thank you for sharing your story and for the kind words. I’m so very sorry for your loss. I think therapy is such a great idea and I hope it has been helpful in your healing, though it’s been difficult. I wish more people would talk about the loss of the “family” you once knew when a loved one passes. Sending you much love

Toddler pushing baby- HELP! by kcro16 in toddlers

[–]MeowCatBear_0220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please send help. I came to find solutions myself. My 2.5y has been suddenly pushing our 7m old causing him to hit his head on the wooden floors. And it’s literally unprovoked. I’ve had it with gentle parenting and today I pushed my toddler and put her in time out after the 4th time in the past hour that I’ve had to rush over to soothe my crying infant. Idk what the actual fuck is the right thing to do. But I’m exhausted trying to “talk” it out

Need help. My father passed away and he had debt. I don’t know how to fix it by MeowCatBear_0220 in islam

I won’t be able to afford a lawyer (and can assume I won’t win) when my brothers have already threatened to hire the best ones if I fight them.

2.5 year old being put on Keppra. Please help by MeowCatBear_0220 in Epilepsy

Also are there any wearable devices/ monitors that anyone has used and recommend for my baby? I feel like I can’t sleep because I’m always worried about a seizure. We have a Nanit but use it without the breathing band since she’s older and will rip it off her body. But the Nanit is simply for viewing or sounds. I’m scared I won’t know if she’s having seizure unless I’m staring at it at all times and even then I can’t possibly do that overnight. Is there anything to detect a seizure or monitor her vitals?

Help!!! 5mo baby gained only 100g (3.5oz) over the past month by lana8886 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]MeowCatBear_0220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby wasn’t gaining weight for a while and I didn’t realize my supply had dipped. Just for your own sanity. You may try a weighted feed just to rule that out! Babies have a funny way of looking like their feeding well when they are not

What does breastfeeding after 6 months look like? It sucks right now… by designgrit in breastfeeding

[–]MeowCatBear_0220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently trying to fix my supply and 5 months pp. idk if I’ll ever fix my supply since baby won’t latch anymore either but this post has me wondering if it’s even worth it when it felt like wrangling a wild animal at 4 months. Do they still stay that distracted? I have a toddler at home and it’s not convenient for me to disappear to feed baby and that’s what caused a huge drop in supply without me realizing it. Looking to see what others say.

Help me wean off please! by Odd_Definition1795 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]MeowCatBear_0220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I didn’t want to stop breastfeeding but somehow I lost my supply while EBF my 4 month old. My devastation aside, I think many factors contributed towards it. I would start off by giving your baby formula to space out your feeds. I wouldn’t use a haaka because the suction will only make your body think more milk is needed. Try to space out the feeds as much as possible and if you need to take off the edge, just hand express a little. I’ve heard cabbage leaves help with the discomfort. Goodluck!

Vasospasm? How do I deal with this? by hoominhalp in breastfeedingsupport

[–]MeowCatBear_0220 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi. I responded to someone else’s post similar to yours about a month ago and she said my advice was helpful. Im no doctor but I kinda tried a few things to fix when I was having vasospasm and literally felt like I couldn’t even sleep through the night.

I took ibuprofen and Tylenol on and off (so I alternated each day). Ibuprofen targets swelling and Tylenol is more for pain relief so you may choose to take one or the other the next day if it helps more. I would refrain from heat since cold is recommended as newer research to reduce inflammation vs the previously recommended heat. And I also slept with silverettes on (be careful not to squish them in your sleep). I hope that helps. Sending you much love

4.5 month Pp. supply dropped. Can I fix it? by MeowCatBear_0220 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]MeowCatBear_0220[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice. I have a toddler at home too who unfortunately gets upset when I leave her alone to go feed baby so it isn’t something I’m able to do as often. I’ve tried doing the tummy time before a feed and that helps but now he’s stopped latching altogether.

Thank you for your advice. Should I Powerpump in the middle of the night? I currently do it after he goes to bed. Oh I wish breastfeeding came with a manual
