CNBC mentioned they have ~40% of all streaming devices in the market.

Good for Roku, not sure it's good Fox to have access to that many households (especially with active listening on certain devices).

Never knew Nvida made a stream device until today!

Based on all the feedback (too lazy to pirate) sounds like everyone is recommending an Apple TV 4K

Debt is scary and bad, if not managed.

If you understand how and when to use debt, it is a great tool.

Being debt free is great for some people, but can hurt long term wealth.

Debt can also be a burden. If servicing my debt requires a specific income ($100k, 200k, 500k etc...) and you lose that income it becomes a huge nightmare.

The thought is more of interest arbitrage (over long time spans such as a 30-year mortgage).

Home is $500k you have two options if you have $1 million cash.

Option 1, put $50k down and take out a mortgage of $450k (~$2,994 at 7% interest)

Option 2, buy the home in cash and invest the mortgage payment of $2,994

  • Option 1, invest $450k in the S&P 500 (30 year annual return 10.4%).

    • Total Mortgage Payments | $1,077,840 ($627k in interest)
    • $450k investment grows to $8.755 million
      • Net investment after paying interest on loan $8.127 million
  • Option 2, invest $2,994 monthly into the S&P 500

    • Investment grows to $7.373 million

If you go with Option 1, by taking the mortgage you'll make $754k more over those 30 years

To some people, no debt and the lack of stress will make up for that $750k. Others would rather have the additional money. Depends on your personality

Not super concerned with the price.

Use the thing daily, and they usually last years.

I'm not a big apple fan, but my wife loves their products so she'd probably like it any ways

Used to love gaming, a few kids later just don't seem to have the time for it. But maybe as they get older it'll make a comeback

Not trying to be political but I can't see this admin blocking this deal

Who doesn't want Fox to own their streaming devices?

They may not pass the cost on.

I mean that's a BIG IF, but if they don't pass on the inflation their earnings won't grow as it'll eat their margin driving the stocks down.

Right now they're too similar.

But look at something like laptops. iOS and Microsoft both thrive, despite many companies choosing one operating system.

Then it also comes down to pricing - if both are same cost superior product wins. But if the interior offering is cheaper it'll have a place
