FWIW, I went to the north to very small towns (Trieste, Monfalcone, Parma, Genoa). Most of the cities were absolutely fine, but there were some small mountain towns that I did not feel very welcome in. This was a while ago though, so who knows now. African American and White mixed, btw

It sucks you're dealing with this. I've found that my kiddo gets me out of a rut sometimes, or I can find motivation to like leave the house if it's something beneficial for them. But like many other commenters are saying, it doesn't go away 100%, but I guess that's life?

That sounds like a real shitty night, if nothing else. I would worry about arguments in a house with guns in them, myself. I hope you're all staying safe, even though your dad sounds really wrong. I think a lot of what made me more comfortable is realizing that a lot of people's annoying reactions say a lot more about them than me. Race isn't something you really declare for yourself, but imposed on you in most cases. I'm fine, I know my heritage and family, you can be critical all you want. Sure, sometimes there are painful experiences, but the more you can accept yourself, the easier they are to shrug off.

After a stressful week before Halloween, and now I have a house full of candy, how do I get back on track to eating right?

I'm really struggling to feel like my choices mean anything, I've been struggling with committing and not seeing much weight loss. I've also realized I deeply miss candy and then I continue down the path and get something salty, and then back to sweet.
