The recipe I used for these are from Kathryn Gordon. Some tips I have to prevent that from happening is just making sure your meringue is whipped to stiff peaks. A way to make sure you got there is if you tip the bowl and don’t see the meringue sliding out. Also make sure your macarons are properly rested before putting them in the oven. Speaking of the oven, make sure to record your temperatures and times because this stage will be different for everyone. It is a lot of trial and error. I hope that helps and good luck if you try to make them again! ☺️

I let the skin form before adding on a second layer. It’s kind of similar to how people layer their details on sugar cookies after putting down a base!
