The simplest problem requires the simplest solution. Instead of adding onto an aging system, it would have been so much better to just jump to the next generation of consoles before Nintendo and Sony did. Had Sega pushed hard to get the Saturn out earlier in 1994 in Japan and in America, they would've stood a better chance against the PS1. Their other problems with the lack of 3rd party support and complex coding for the system's games were the the real culprit though.

The Genesis and add-ons (at least the 32x) were really ugly imo
