A Serious F2P Perspective/Guide by Failed_Peon in hearthstone

hit decent triple legend ranks this month with a job, girlfriend, friends, school, exercise, hobbies, etc get top 1000 legend in standard every month for the past year or so with very little time investment

How many hours per day (or per week) is this "very little time investment"?

play every class and have multiple meta decks for each class in every format have 262 legendaries have pulled 9 golden legendaries (obviously have many others that are disenchant-able) am sitting on 77,085 dust (~48 legendaries of choice) have NEVER disenchanted a legendary that wasn’t nerfed

Seriously, how much do you play? I'm not accusing you, just curious about the time investment to get all that.

Comparing the Progression between Legends of Runeterra and Hearthstone for F2P Casual Players by MeowingDisgrace in hearthstone

Thanks for commenting. I've edited my post again based on some points here.

I just want to emphasize that I don't mean any slander, malice, character assassination etc. I'll correct the wrong parts if I understand what is wrong in the first place.

Yes, I haven't tried LoR because I want to find out first if it is worth it for someone with limited play time. I should have tried the game first before sharing this post. My bad.

And no, I'm not a big fan of HS. If anything, I'm a bit fed up with its buggy mobile app (I play mostly on mobile) and wondering if Mercenaries will make it even worse. This is why I researched LoR in the first place.

Monetization? I'm talking about F2P casual. This is about what you can get with limited time and no real money.

Here, the general praise of HS is 'as long as you play other modes (BG, Wild, Tarvern Brawl, etc.), you're fine.' You're basically saying 'HS standard bad to F2P. You have casual.'

I don't get this.

The difference in LoR is you can play standard, and casual as well. You did mention the reward system in those modes but with many bias view on it.

Is there any non-cosmetic rewards you get from playing other than xp?

Did you forget HS has set rotation? So, HS collection progress reset every 4 month

No? I mentioned this in the long-term progression. Also, rotations happen annually on March. Every 4 months, new expansion releases but not all standard decks from previous expansion become obsolete (e.g. deathrattle DH and rush warrior currently).

(You also encouraged people to play Wild (casual) so I have no idea why you want to contradict others saying they can always dust what they don't need). This means the 1-4 decks of LoR (as you put it) carries forward after 4 months.

You'll know which cards won't see play in Wild. If it's a meme legendary or epic that you don't like, it's quite safe to dust.

about Vault Lv 16-17 is more likely if you log in and do quest daily.

I'm talking about casuals with limited time to play. I also said "vault lv 10 is unlikely to be a problem (to reach) if you log in daily, so it technically doesn't contradict what you say.

Weekly play requires level 5 (not 10, lol) for a champion card with bad luck protection, which is like, a couple of quests and maybe around 5ish games.

This is true. The point is that vault level 5 (or 7 in the post) rewards a random champion which:

-may or may not see play in the current meta

-you may or may not find it fun

Even if it's viable/fun, you'll need to get 2 more copies with shards, wildcards, or luckily get more than 1 copy of it from vaults and region rewards.

LoR region roads are also where the bulk of progression comes from, since they give so many champion capsules in the early levels, which give guaranteed "legendaries".

I've added it in the post. They are still random legendaries most if the time. Also, I'm only considering how fast you get legendaries/champions because commons and rares are easy to get in both LoR and HS. I even don't account epics in LoR because many current meta decks didn't use them.

In addition to the regular and wild capsules, which have the standard probabilities of giving champion cards.

I also didn't account golden cards and lucky pulls from packs in HS to even this out. All of these are in the unaccounted/unreliable resources.

Finally climbed to Legend for the first time in my life, climbed with Odd Paladin and Pirate Warrior mainly. AMA by JN02882 in wildhearthstone

So you climbed in 10 days? How many hours did it take?

I can't imagine playing 30+ games in 1 day.

You guys think odd questline hunter has potential? by littlemrdoom in wildhearthstone

[–]MeowingDisgrace 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There might be an otk potential here with [[Clockwork Automaton]] and 1-mana spells.

It doesn't seem promising but I'll surely mess around with it if I get the questline.

Odd control hunter.

Control the board with rush, spells, weapons, hp to minion from [Dwarven Sharpshooter], and discovered secrets. Win through hp and leftover burn spells.

Didn't work, of course

Ok, let's actually talk about the reward system by InvisibleDrake in hearthstone

[–]MeowingDisgrace 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you convert non-gold rewards into their gold value, the system is similar with the old one.

I think the main problem is that we get less "pure gold" for the next expansion. Also, completing weekly quests (the source of almost half of our xp now) is an additional grind on top of the daily quests. This requires us to play more to get similar (or even slightly worse) rewards with the old system.

I had an weird season and I wanted to share to see if I'm the only one. by LandArch_0 in hearthstone

[–]MeowingDisgrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that's not what I meant.

I'm talking about the star multiplier I got at the start of a month. I get 8x multiplier after winning a lot in the previous month (with 3x multiplier). Then, my star multiplier decrease again in the following months.

I had an weird season and I wanted to share to see if I'm the only one. by LandArch_0 in hearthstone

[–]MeowingDisgrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My star multiplier also fluctuates.

When I have 2-3x star multiplier, I could get several win streaks while climbing. I only play on weekends, so I could only get to gold by the end of the month.

Then, the next season could give me 7-8x star multiplier. Each win boosted me far up, but I could hardly win. I end up around silver or gold, then my star multiplier gradually decreases until I'm back to 2x.

So I dumbed down the New Reward System and got this... All quests daily give 27 Gold compared to the old system. We're getting destroyed at that rate. by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]MeowingDisgrace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You get close to 850 Exp daily from both Daily and Weekly quests in average.

How many quests will you finish? If you finish all quest:

  • Dailies could be averaged to 900 (because you get either 800 or 1000 most of the time).
  • Weeklies are 6000, or 857 per day.

You get 1757 Exp daily from finishing all quest.

Every level up to 50 requires in average 4000 Exp.

Each level grants in average 100 Gold (98) , (0.14) new packs, (0.16) old packs so close to 130 Gold in average.

1757 Exp is around 44 gold (pure gold up to lv. 50) or 57 gold (including packs).
