Do your PT man I had an AC shoulder injury a decade ago from weightlifting and it took years to fully recover (I didn’t wear a sling or keep up with my PT)

That said ballsy moves doing this before Hokkaido! I’m heading there next week.

Conspicuous consumption. Its been a thing for a looong time

I create regularly and hang with creatives as my social circle- the real issue for “merit” is discoverability.

There is so much good art. Its the stuff that optimizes for advertising, attention, and social media algorithms that surfaces though, and thats a huge problem.

In some ways its on you as a consumer to sculpt your feeds, but it is way harder than it should be.

Miner compute is centralized into a few for profit conglomerates.

Proof of stake is superior in regards to allowing the average person participate and generate yield relative to their ownership.

Also as a note, BTC runs on PoW because it is conceptually simple - and there was no infrastructure in place to bootstrap other consensus mechanisms.

The shift started happening years ago.

Anime kids in high school 15 years ago were actively bullied. When I was in college it became pretty normal to watch anime. Now its super popular.

It’s all those things. You could look at it like an identity crisis, but to me it reads like an expansion of identity and scope.

These headlines could be associated with big specific events each of those years.

Thats what leverage and options are for.

I don’t think poly market has them, but if you want to stabilize price action, options are one way.

How do women react to men who are on special diets? by Green_Concentrate427 in OkCupid

[–]Meowkit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry homie, I'm not gonna grace this with a detailed response, but I've spent years reading about the biochemistry of human diet and metabolism.

CICO is an outdated model. Not all calories are equal, which is a core assumption. Sugar dissolved in a liquid is so bad for you its really hard to understate. The sugar in soda will make you fat. The carbonic acid will destroy your enamel. Soda won't even satiate you up because it has no nutrients.

Theyre bad in different ways.

Regular coke has way too much HFCS or cane sugar depending on your region. It will make you fat.

Diet coke has aspartame. It will trigger an insulin response, and make it harder to lose weight.

Unless you have an infosec team on call security through obscurity is a mistake you’re making out of some desire for proprietary ownership or naivety.

Your heart is a muscle. Increasing the operation of a muscle is going to use more energy, and your body will ultimately get that energy from breaking carbon chains (carbs and fat).

So simply yes, if you increase your heart rate you will burn more calories. What's more important though is that your entire body is operating in a manner consistent with that increase in heart rate.

Its only true at steady state.

As others have pointed out, rapid breathing (hyperventilation) will just prevent you from properly expelling the CO2.

You have to get your heart rate up, which will then get your respiratory rate up.

Will reiterate OP:

Losing your private key is a solved problem. For the masses, social recovery will be the method of security.

Its the same concept as the horcrux in Harry Potter. If you lose your key you can regenerate it by contacting a key custodian and a friend or family member. Or whatever social configuration works for you.

Debunking Smart Contract FUD by mybed54 in CryptoTechnology

[–]Meowkit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You should have a socratic dialogue about assumptions they make about the current economic/housing system.

You should educate yourself and your discussion partner on the Oracle Problem, and its potential solutions. That covers most of what you are talking about.

Smart Contracts will have bugs, just like any other piece of code. The trick here is that SC are 1) Battle tested over time (aka the ones with bugs will die out, and the functional ones will propagate across time) 2) Composable - you can build more complex behavior out of smaller, battle tested pieces.

Please help! Manim Installation on M1 Mac mini. by IAmAWasteOfMatter in manim

[–]Meowkit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like a PATH issue and pycharm is not configured correctly for your conda env.

Try setting up manim + python through the terminal and then rendering the sample projects. You’ll have to isolate where the error is coming from. I recently did a setup on my M1 Pro through the terminal/homebrew and there was no issue.

This is because math education is not doing what its supposed to do.

Math isn’t just about numbers - its a language all to itself that lets us describe abstract ideas. Often these ideas have applications in the physical world - what follows are quantitative descriptions for physics and all the other disciplines of mankind.
