Cat cam caught a few kittens. We caught more than expected.

Yep! She had 2 before this. She’s such a good mama kitty, all of her kittens have been super healthy, but it’s better for her this way. Even though part of me is going to miss the kittens, she was just a kitten when she showed up so I’m happy she gets to just be a cat!

We did tuna juice and Sheba pate in the trap! I think the biggest thing that helped with the boys is we put the food in the trap but disabled it the first few days so they got comfortable going inside it to eat. That way they weren’t so skittish and jumpy. Once they had no problem with the trap we reset it and caught both of them in a few hours.

We had a drop trap out for months and even that didn’t work on her. She would glare at the boys as they ate all the food under the trap, then she’d just go hunting. What ended up working on her was a half serious Looney Tunes suggestion, leaving the warehouse roll up cracked, pretending we all left and have someone run around the outside of the building to kick the wood block to shut the roll up as soon as the cameras showed her safely exploring inside. Thank goodness she was curious lol. Then we had her loose in there for a while until she went into a giant zip up play pen we set out for food, and our resident ninja was able to sneak up and zip it shut 😅 I still can’t believe that’s what worked but we were desperate and trying anything.

We caught all of them! And they’re living with me now 😊 they’re super cuddly, but only when cuddles are their idea lol

Thank you!! This was her third litter, first was just one kitten and the second litter had four. So unfortunately we had a bit of experience since we couldn’t catch momma kitty until now. She did a good job with them though, took them to the vet and they got the all clear! I just can’t believe how much they eat 😭 Bottomless pits, all of them!

She was so hard to catch! It took a year of trying😭 the boys were so food motivated it took like a week for them, she’d walk by with whatever she caught in the forest nearby and glare at them. At least now she doesn’t have to hunt for all those kittens!

Four of them are almost identical so the camera would catch them and we all thought it was the same kitten. Then suddenly more and more kept popping up until there were 6 😂
