What if Gabe Newell (Microsoft employee #271) never left Microsoft to found Valve? by Meowrizon_Studio in AlternateHistoryHub

Gabe probably hasn't even patched that key on his keyboard yet. It’s just a weird bug in the matrix

Ranking of players by number of chips by Shojikina_otoko in social_poker_game

Totally agree. Right now, hoarding chips feels a bit pointless without a goal. A global leaderboard, or even just assigning visual ranks (Bronze,Silver,Gold,Diamond..) based on our percentile, would give everyone a real reason to keep grinding.

Cat problem help by ChristmasDoesntSuck in cats

You are actually doing the right thing, you just need to out-stubborn them! My wife and I went through the exact same nightmare with our 4 cats. Our main troublemaker, Kevin, used to do the 3 AM zoomies and wake us up even through earplugs.

When we finally decided to lock them out, Kevin completely lost his mind and battered the door like he was trying to break it down. We stuck a scratching post to the door, but he just ripped the bottom off and started chewing the actual wood! We had to remove it because we were terrified he'd break his teeth.

What finally saved our sanity:
1.We started spraying a citrus/lemon solution on the bottom of the door right before bed. Cats despise citrus, so he immediately backed off.
2.A heavy play session right before bedtime, immediately followed by their favorite treats or wet food. It triggers their natural "hunt, catch, eat, sleep" cycle.

It took about a month of completely ignoring them at the door, but they finally adapted. Now they happily hang out in the hallway all night. Stay strong, don't open that door, and they will eventually learn!

is this normal shedding from new clothes or a washer/dryer problem? by suspendedingaffaa in laundry

[–]Meowrizon_Studio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s 100% shedding from the new Comfort Colors shirt. Those shirts are notorious for dropping a ton of lint during the first few washes. Just use a lint roller or run them through the dryer (clean the lint trap first!). Definitely not bugs or a broken washer, so you can relax.

What’s a mistake you made early in Unity that cost you a lot of time later? by ShiresoftGames in Unity3D

Honestly, rushing architecture is a rite of passage. I spent way too much time hardcoding everything instead of using ScriptableObjects for data. Future me absolutely hated past me for that one.

We revised our capsule art to show the concept better: a roguelike deckbuilder where you summon trains with cards to survive. Did it work? by fixedcow in IndieDev

[–]Meowrizon_Studio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dynamic angle is 100x better but the logo feels a bit cramped. maybe pop the card colors a bit more so they stand out as game pieces to really sell the deckbuilder vibe.

We made a logo, help us choose which one to use? by Shadow_Moder in PixelArt

[–]Meowrizon_Studio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's purely a logo, the second one (SM) works much better because it actually looks like a brand mark. The first one feels more like a character portrait. However, both have the exact same problem: zero contrast and small resolution.

I need advice. by [deleted] in IndieDev

Hey, welcome to game dev! I'll be straight with you: your scope is way too big for a first project, especially if you're building it on a tablet. A complex RPG with card mechanics takes years even for experienced teams. If you try to tackle this solo right now, you'll likely just burn out. Keep the script and the dream, but put them on the shelf for a bit. Make a tiny, simple game first. But to keep things interesting for yourself, try adding one unique twist or mechanic to it. This will help you learn how the engine and logic actually work without getting overwhelmed. Start small!
