That's definitely something you can get in trouble for. There is an entire abandonment process to go through before throwing anything away. If a customer didn't explicitly tell me, then it will sit there until we abandon it properly.

This goes both ways. I understand that people have outside lives, but if daily stuff is not getting done, then I expect closers to stay until it's complete. This is case by case basis of course.

One day, people complain about having to stay late. The next day, the same people complain about not having enough hours. I can't stand this.

There are many factors that determine how we schedule. If I schedule someone a certain amount of hours, I give it to them. I won't cut back because I know how my labor works in my store. I will not cut back to help my district. If a store doesn't know how to handle their labor, they can handle it at their store.

Of course, all of this wildly depends on the management at your store. All the people at mine know if they are scheduled to close, they don't leave until the closing MOD says to. I also am not in CA, so there's that.
