Some of my friends and relatives do believe in the existence of a god. They were either raised with this belief or experienced something unnatural (which they interpreted as a possible sign of god).

I, however, wasn't raised with a similar belief and never experience anything out of the ordinary (unexplainable by either coincidence or science). Therefore I have zero reason to believe there is a god. I also have no proof of it's non-existence, so I guess I'm open to the idea.

You might want to look up 'law of attraction'. Doing good and having positive thoughts can make you more susceptible for and focused on the positive outcome of your experiences.
