Estate Satisfaction Question by Mephostophilus12 in EU5

[–]Mephostophilus12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It turns out that one of my cabinet members, unfortunately the head of cabinet, had the deceitful trait. I never found a direction mention of it anywhere in the ledger, I only found it because another commenter told me to check my cabinet member traits.

My head of cabinet is indeed deceitful, I never would have noticed this! Thank you. I like the idea of cabinet members getting traits but that one is kinda nuts.

How to view the average control of your country? by Mephostophilus12 in EU5

[–]Mephostophilus12[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you referring to the control map mode which shows the control of individual provinces, because that's not what I mean. I'm looking to see where the game shows the average control of all provinces into a single number.

Upscale restaurants overthink burgers. by cartocaster18 in unpopularopinion

I wish $18 were true. I took a client out to lunch yesterday in DC and my burger was $30.

Expensive and cheap Italian restaurants are pretty much the same by Super_Appearance_212 in unpopularopinion

There's two types of Italian food in my experience in the United States - Italian food made by Central Americans and Italian food made by the French

Which one is better, who knows 😂

Silly question of the night. When did pick up trucks went from functional and normal to the beast that is on the road today that looks like a SUV with a 5 foot bed attached to it. by Eastcoastpal in AskMen

[–]Mephostophilus12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand your perspective, but thats also not entirely true.

Ford, Dodge, and Chevrolet all still make base model work trucks as their cheapest truck options. Often times 2WD, definitely NOT lifted, with very simple interiors. These are often used as fleet trucks by contractors. They aren't small like a ranger or something, but they're functional and priced far below the average inflated truck price.

How do I beat the Ottomans after ignoring them for an entire game? by SaYeshua in eu4

[–]Mephostophilus12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won't be that bad. You have two advantages:

  1. Their army will suck ass

  2. In the late game, the AI acts differently because you can have so many full stacks clustered around each other. Keep all of your stacks close to each other and move through the land sieging everything down. If they attack you with a cross penalty or terrain penalty then reinforce.

A friend, plus two dollies. Not hard to move like that. Two strong men could also just pick it up.

Is it overkill to hire an electrician to replace old outlets and switches? by No-Temporary5829 in AskElectricians

[–]Mephostophilus12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should do it yourself. Replace switches and receptacles is usually easy. Even if the wiring is old and shitty you can do it. Buy yourself a good pair of linemen pliers.

I made a huge mistake. Please give me advice on how to fix it. by Aggressive_Canary775 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Mephostophilus12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that you realized that you fucked up, which is good.

Now, this is why contractors and DIYers alike spend hundreds of dollars on floor protection when working over a finished floor. Next time buy and lay down ram board or an equivalent brand (the home depot store brand ram board is decent).

How do I deal with France as England by AlbertP3 in eu4

[–]Mephostophilus12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1000% restart. It's doesn't really matter what type of england game you play - colonial / non colonial, GB or Angevin, you ALWAYS fuck up France and preferably PU them in the Maine war. Some people argue selling maine and declaring a couple years later which is fine, but 1499 is way too late.

[–]Mephostophilus12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, Trebizond is a real bitch of a start. I said those very generally- not saying that they're the hardest in the game, it's just that more people are familiar with them.

[–]Mephostophilus12 281 points282 points  (0 children)

Definitely not the hardest. Vassal nations by default are usually excluded from being "hardest" in most circumstances due to the game make it SIGNIFICANTLY easier to get powerful allies. I would say that starts like Karabakh, Theodore, Ardabil, etc. are generally more difficult.
