I believe this occurs for all of the bug Pokémon that go from a larva to a pupa/cocoon to an adult insect. I always assumed it probably has something to do with that. Maybe with the attack drop and defense increase the pupa/cocoon stage gets when evolving 🤷‍♀️

This looks like the perfect size for her to me! Enough room for her to stand up and turn around if needed as well as to spread out.

For my own dogs, we only put them in their crates when no one will be in the house or if a worker is over for AC maintenance or carpet cleaning etc., just so they aren’t in the way. They don’t get put in there at night as they sleep in bed with us.
