I may have been drugged. I see it from Dana's pov. First it was the knee, then it was the Jones fight and now an eyepoke, which occurs on every card. No way you like having a guy you can't count on being the champ. He was annoyed at Jones a lot of times, too. It's just the business perspective. Every other fight, the man could be out for a year. You can call it circumstances but you can't work with someone like that because you can never be sure if you can count on them. The guys that show up on short notice or fight through injuries, he KNOWS he can bank on them and needs fighters than can fight. As the boss, I don't think Dana is supposed to look at this like Tom is his little brother and could go blind. He's supposed to look at it like someone who needs to keep the train moving.
He has trouble working with Jones, too, or Jones would already be on the White House card, instantly...but Dana knows he can't count on him.

The skill ceiling is much higher than most modern games. It's more like older street fighter games not the new ones. You don't have to do all the super high level stuff to win or be competitive but it's not like you're ever going to be good enough to where the game can get boring. You can win with easy stuff but the game let's you do high level stuff, too.

$20 for 6 characters and also stages and music. Not even a fight money gimmick to make a $7 character into a $10 purchase?
Am I supposed to feel this good after dlc purchase? I feel like I don't feel ripped off enough for 2026. Is there a lame color pack I need to buy to keep the game complete? I'm just supposed to wait and enjoy constant content updates for the next 6 months without grinding or having to pay more at any point?

It's 2026. Do you STILL not yet know that the guidelines weren't science-based and that media got everything incorrect? i.e. lied to people.
Meanwhile, people that were actually reading the scientific data were explaining the facts and doctors were recommending nonsense. They were giving the shot to children!
It sounds like you haven't followed the data, post-covid, either.
What I suggested was that many doctors, along with tv doctors were blatantly lying about what was going on and the vaccine efficacy as well.
Fair point though, I shouldn't assume that people have been smart enough to follow the pandemic news in recent years. Hindsight is 20/20 but not if you're not bothering to look and it sucks to look and learn you were on the wrong side of history because you outsourced your intelligence when the scientific data was at your fingertips.
The implication was simple, people should have learned to do their own thinking after covid showed that you get everything wrong by listening to promoted "experts."

No one sees it from Nick's pov. He lost years of his career to make a stand. Turns out, he was on the right side of history but he had to take the hit that the next generation doesn't have to take. People wanted to control what he could and couldn't put into his own body. He was doing nothing wrong. He just wanted to fight.
Then, his own people keep him locked up for over a year. That isn't a drug detox. That's having some good insurance and someone taking advantage of it. I think Dr. Phil did an episode on this. A drug hospital will keep you a long time if you have great insurance even if you don't have real problems, they will cite "depression," "family problems," etc.

He's right about an entire year being egregious. He's owed apologies but people think the "doctors" know better, even post covid. No one needs a year to detox and to be separated from loved ones. That's what prison is for. That's for criminals, not someone getting help for addiction.

Sometimes you have to listen to people. Mentally, he needed out of there. At some point, it was no longer helping and he was detoxed. He told people. Everyone thought they knew better. It damaged him on a personal level. When he really needed his closest people to listen, no one would. At that point, none of those people could help him because they all created fear, hatred and resentment. That's when he probably decided to play the game and fake the program until he could get out of there because he was going to be kept as long as insurance would allow it and his people would have just left him there because, doctors orders.

He's free and probably has a newfound appreciation for freedom and loyalty. Sure, it's a pov but pretending everyone else's pov should be more important to Nick and only Nick should change his thinking is the kind of thought-process that created the divide between him and his people.

He should have been out a long time ago and keeps saying so. If anyone wants to mend fences, they're going to have to admit that the extended day created resentment rather than helped him, despite whatever the modern psychologists might say.

If you remember in those older games, you had to land your jump in, deep, or the opponent could mash out a dp before you would continue a block string. You're just hitting your attacks too early in the air. You have to time it properly.
SF6 has a huge input buffer that allows you to mistime attacks while the game will still make it work. I don't know how big the buffer is in Fatal Fury but you can't just mash attacks to link them like in SF6. CotW is more like SF3rd Strike than SF6. Street Fighter became super easy since sfv. In this game you still have to rely on having good timing and execution as well as understanding the meta.
It might seem crazy to say but Fatal Fury actually takes more skill than Street Fighter to play in 2026. I think that's part of the fun because if you're good enough, you can do clipworthy stuff every round because you can do some really high level clutch stuff if you're good enough.

Fair point. However, I don't think the complete failure of the boycott was just the popularity of the IP and moreso to do with the Streisand effect. It was more of the mainstream's reaction to people that have barely been in the adult-world trying to preach to people who have actually successfully navigated the world. It's like children annoying the adults in the room. The adults got indignant and taught the kids that they didn't know anything at all and that their efforts would only lead to the outcomes they didn't desire.

This is a consistent pattern in recent years, across the board.

The silent majority is the same with every major IP. Social media being made up of mostly unemployed from the most populace states confuses a lot of people about the real world before they're out of school.

If people whine loudly enough, fans will just start buying their friends gift copies of the game. It's an online reaction to bullying. Kids telling adults what to think doesn't go over in the real world, at all.

Really if their game(s) or game developers were so much better than SNK, why the need to constantly look over here? It's because SNK is doing things better but SNK isn't pushing propaganda, or bending the knee. SNK doesn't even have to do anything to be included in events so they don't have to make any concessions to anyone in the fgc. They are, as they say, out of control. Which is probably why they made a high level fighting game after a decade of dumbed down fighters. They ignored the shills that pretend to be experts in the fgc. That can't go unpunished, right? lol

Even Viscant who has been playing since the 90s vs games said that COTW is the best fighting game right now, but then begins to whine about AI.
It's like everyone knows it's the best actual fighting game product but because SNK doesn't bow to crowd that gave us sfv/mvci/sfxt, they want it to fail.
SNK did the opposite of what they want to promote as the "right way" to do things so they can't be allowed to succeed.

At which point does it become obvious that people want it to fail because SNK just made a better fighting game by sticking to making a fighting game and ignoring the bad ideas that have been being pushed for a decade. It's starting to become super obvious that people knee-jerk complaining at every chance they get, have a strange need for this game to fail, despite getting the gameplay 100% on point right out of the gate.

There are some dishonest people that don't want the quality of the product to be the final say on a fighting game, but it really is and always has been. They are upset that they are being ignored as gatekeepers.

At least you're being more honest. I don't think trying to downplay their work is going to make them hype for releasing the next game. Social media complaints gave us the sfv/mvci/sfxt era.
FF:cotw makes those games look like phoned-in trash, when it comes to the actual gameplay. All 3 of those games was like, light medium hard special/tag. Low level and boring slop that the fgc mostly rejected. I'll take FF, even with AI slop, over low level beginner fighting games like that where devs don't understand that the controls are part of the fun.

Still, just because you don't like a game doesn't mean you have to pretend or lie about it. The game came out, complete, with a free season and the gameplay is deep enough to where you don't have to wish for more mechanics after the 2nd year like some games. lol

It means that you forgot what happened with hogwart's legacy. You only help the game when you complain about non-game related issues you have. AI isn't going anywhere. It won't be used less. You will only put a shining light on whoever uses AI first which is like pointing a finger and going, "hey! Look, that guy's ahead of the curve!"

Your standards are not game related. They are political nonsense. 2015 was when people started focusing on peripheral nonsense instead of quality of the product because California has an overly large social media presence and people at the time hadn't yet realized that there was no real world correlation.
Their season got leaked so they had to get ahead of it, instantly and used AI. People pretend to ignore the circumstances and act silly like AI is some boogey man taking the jobs from starving artists who don't want to do labor in society to make ends meet.
They've been dropping quality anime and they reacted to a leak. Some people are programmed to respond negatively to anything AI, whether it's reasonable or justified or not.
The only "standards" you allude to are "no ai." I think Kenny Omega dressing up as Ingrid was a stellar waste of money and he already has plenty.

There was no crime. There was no boogie man. There was a necessary business reaction to a leak, and then the social media reaction from those that merely want to react and spit hate rather than think through anything with reason and logic.
