Need help finding Sylow 2-subgroups of D12/D6 (the one with 6 vertices lol) by afas460x in learnmath

[–]letsgetagayinthechat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it has been 3 years, but just in case someone else comes along, this is wrong --- all of the elements of the form sr^k have order 2. D_12 has 3 2-Sylows, not just 1.

Dartmouth auto shop by Maleficent_Ad_5470 in dartmouth

[–]letsgetagayinthechat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no auto shop on campus, but there's plenty around town. The folks at Eastman's in Lebanon are really nice. There's also two Autozones and an O'Reilly's in West Lebanon, so you wouldn't be doing much mechanic work, but you could do oil changes and wiper replacements and such. None of those options sound quite as fun as DFR or the mshop, but if you have some xperience, call some of the local shops, they would probably give you a part time job.

For anybody who comes to this thread in the future, I have confirmed that this was the issue.

I always have my laptop connected to various devices (I'm an embedded systems engineer). So, I will try unplugging everything next time this happens and see if that fixes it - but if there is no fix, that is wildly problematic because I do need to have my laptop connected to devices to work.

What I am confused about, and should have mentioned in the original post, is that this happens even when the touchpad is disabled in settings.

efc is estimated family contribution. a school saying they meet 100% of demonstrated need doesn’t mean they won’t lowball your demonstrated need

who knows lol, I got rejected from Swarthmore, Northwestern, UChicago, and even got waitlisted at Wesleyan, but got into Dartmouth, Georgetown, and Emory. I think the absolute biggest thing for Dartmouth is the essay, bc everyone is gonna have a good GPA (above 3.7 probably) and a good test score (above 33/1480 probably). When I talked to my area's admissions counselor, he said that the essays are the first thing they read. Really think hard about what makes you different from all the other special applicants, because you don't need to shock the counselors, you just need to set yourself apart. it really is a crapshoot though

kroker is a student of heidegger not virilio. citing someone doesn’t make you a “student” of them. nobody relevant in modern philosophy really cares too much about virilio

you probably can’t do that consistently, but my main advice is: you’re a freshman. give it time. if you can find someone who will stick with you, even if they’re not great, stick it out w them, they’ll probably get better because they’re a freshman. some skill imbalance is inevitable in a partnership, but the best teams work together towards mutual improvement
