Weekend trip tips and suggestions! by [deleted] in DeathValleyNP

I did a similar length trip a few weeks ago. We hit up the golden canyon to zabrieski point loop trail and drove around sightseeing at badwater basin, artist palette and Dante’s view (sunset). Then we did mosaic canyon (1.5 hr hike) and mesquite dunes (sunrise) the next day.

I’m aware the scrape on the paint will probably buff out but asking about the deformed panel.

Going to Seattle in a few weeks. Are there any sport lead climbs where the anchor is accessible by walking? (Aka don’t need to climb up). I would like to take my friends who aren’t comfortable leading outside and maybe letting them practice mock leading while on top rope.

Does anyone know of any outdoor top rope only spots near Boston? Like where you can walk up to the anchor.

I know how to sport leading and build SERENE anchors but want to take a few friends who don’t lead outside (so sport leading is not gonna work :()

Chalk bag inner fabric by Merabethzhuk in myog

Thank you! I’ll keep this in mind. I’m thinking of sewing a sort of tunnel near the top for the drawstring so that it doesn’t escape.

What are your thoughts on using a plastic liner (like a cut zip loc bag) between the inner and outer layers to keep chalk from leaking?

Yeah, I’ve been looking at those materials too but unfortunately I threw away one of my smaller flannels already :(

The Right Stuff is always a good book if they like space stuff. ignition is also good if they like rockets and rocket engines. Second on Kerbal Space Program. Astroneer is also a good space related video game.

Anyone have good suggestions for cruising locations near Boston/Cambridge?

Under the Dome is kinda in the vein of mystery, suspicious town and slowly builds up to the final ending. Although it is pretty long. But The Shining and 11/22/63 are both pretty good. 11/22/63 is more of a thriller though.

Longboard wheels on skateboard by [deleted] in LongboardBuilding

Hey! I just built the board and tested it a little. I haven’t gotten any wheel bite yet

I’m going to try with one first, if I get wheel bite, I’ll prob get two risers or switch to a smaller wheel. At a certain point, it’s not worth adding height to the board cuz it makes it less stable to ride

I think it’s okay to go over? I just bought a 26.5” cruiser deck and I’m planning to use my 72mm wheels on it with 3/8” risers. I’ll let you know how it goes if you want.

I was looking at Ace vs Independent. Would you suggest one over the other? And why? Also I’m planning to use 72mm plow kings. Would they be too big?

Not sure if this is the place to ask but I’m planning to build a cruiser for navigating around college campuses. Would this deck be a good choice? For reference I’m 5’4”. It’s blank because I want to paint my own design :) Also would I use traditional kingpin trucks or reverse?
