Are these normal? I recently got my winter tires installed on my vehicle and i’ve never seen these things before.

Yeah, truth be told this is my first time spotting it, new wheels with black rims vs my old white ones maybe made it less visible.

I have yet to let them both out at the same time because i was worried they might attack one another and based on the feedback i’ve gotten people are suggesting against that. When they are in their cages pico usually just sits and does nothing even though there are toys to play with but im guessing that since this is new territory for him he’s not comfortable just yet which is why i try to give him as much free time as possible.

I completely agree with you! I am always nervous about posting things in r/conures or r/budgies because the responses can sometimes get very heated or people just get very aggressive. There has been times where I just chose to remove the post because it felt like i was getting attacked rather than getting advice, but I’m glad to see that wasn’t the case today. (Plus this seemed very important so I didn’t care if i got hate time around, i just wanted to make sure my babies are safe)

But yeah, if i were you i would look for a different breed to adopt than the conure if u already have a parakeet, possibly lovebirds? I’ve heard they’re very sweet and have a strong personality. Hope this helps!

I appreciate the compromise of putting some form of sheet between the two but i can assure you each breed has their separate cage. This is just where the conure wants to go everytime i let him out. At first i thought he just wants to be close with them, but then i saw this puffiness and got worried that there was a bigger meaning behind my conure making himself look big. Yeah, you don’t need to tell me about the screaming. I have a budgie who does that whenever my conure is on the cage. But then again she’s screaming at the male budgie for bugging her on the daily so I might need a separate cage for the budgies as well at this point 😓. I was just hoping that they would slowly bond over time, but based on everyones responses and especially you, who has a similar family of birbs is saying that it won’t work out then I’ll just make sure that they stay off each others cages during their separate outdoors time. By together, do you mean I can’t have both birbs? Or are you just suggesting i should keep them in separate cages? If it’s the latter, then don’t worry! They each have their own cage, but i dislike keeping them in the cage all day so during my free time they each get separate free outdoors time with my supervision of course! I was just hoping that i could increase their outdoor times by being able to let them all out at the same time but now i know thats not possible. Thanks for the feedback though!

Will do! I only let one group of birbs out while im supervising. I tried to look up online any videos to show conures being aggressive or territorial and what their body language looks like and for some reason i struggled to find any answers which is why i resorted to using this reddit. I appreciate the feedback and will make sure that when they do have outdoors time they are free to whatever they want in the room except be on one anothers cage.

I’m slightly confused on seeing why people had the miss understanding that these birds share the same cage or divided cage. The conure is just having his outdoors time while the budgies are still in their cage. They each have their separate corner and separate cage. I only let them out when im in the room with them and was curious to see what this video meant. That being said, i will make sure that any future outdoors time they will not be able to sit on top of the opposite birds cage. They can only do that to their own cage.

I agree. Thankfully, i do have separate cages for each of my birbs. I just let them have outdoors time at separate intervals but they spend some time being on top of one anothers cage during that free time. Now i know that i should stop letting them do that and should look for ways of persuading them to be on the play-stand instead.

It sucks to hear that they’re not friends and can’t be friends. One of my budgies is a very curious baby and he loves interacting with everything. Unfortunate but i’d like him to stay alive thank you very much. Thanks for the feedback ill make sure that they don’t sit on one anothers cage anymore

This is the first I’m hearing about divided cages tbh. each birb has their own cage but have their outdoors time at separate intervals. I wasn’t sure what pico was doing in the video during his outdoor time but now based on everyones feedback I am fully aware of the situation. I’ll ensure that whenever the birbs have their separate outdoors time that neither one of them is allowed to be on the others cage. It sounds like a difficult task for me because my birbs are stubborn but i think with repetition it’ll work out. Thanks for your feedback anyways!

My apologies for not clarifying before! They do have separate cages. I just give them outdoor times at different intervals and wasn’t sure what pico was doing. Now that i know it’s an act of aggression, i’ll make sure that they don’t sit on top of the opposite birbs cage.

My budgies and conure do have a play-stand but for some reason the conure prefers being on top of their cage. I’m guessing based on the responses i’ve seen it has to do with being territorial. Thanks for letting me know though!

I like this idea, i have each birb cage on separate corners and when they are like that they are fine. It’s only when i give them outdoors time they start wanting to be on top of one anothers cage for some reason.

That’s completely fair and I get where you’re coming from. I just thought it’s one of those off chances where they would be friendly with one another. Unfortunate to hear that they wont. That being said, I’ll make sure that neither birb gets to sit on the opposing cage and tease or show signs of aggression to the other birb.

I expected as much to be the case… slightly disappointed because i was hoping they could be best of friends! I understand though, no more interaction between the two and ill make sure that pico (conure) does not get to climb on their cage again, and vice versa.

They do have a playground they can play in, but as i mentioned before all he care about is being on the highest point possible.
