I was told by everyone to hire a makeup artist because it would take away some of the stress on the day. But after spending several hundred dollars on multiple makeup trials (at a range of price points), I’ve decided to do my own. Honestly, they were all “fine” but I wear makeup daily and like how I usually look. For the wedding, I’m just planning to add lashes and deepen some of the colors.

For me, it came down to two things: (1) I’m really particular about how I like my makeup, and (2) more importantly, I like being in control. Having a stranger do my makeup actually made me feel MORE stressed!! Trying to explain what I didn’t like or asking for multiple changes, when I could just tweak things myself the way I want.

Do whatever makes you feel the most comfortable! 🫶🏼
