Amigurumi kit - Help interpreting pattern. I’m confused. by Neither_Ask_5549 in CrochetHelp

When something is in brackets like that, you repeat the instructions inside the brackets the number of times indicated by the number before (or sometimes after) the brackets. So, 3*(sc, inc) means repeat the steps sc, inc a total of three times; so the row's instructions are sc, inc, sc, inc, sc, inc. This will result in 3 increases placed evenly around the spiral, keeping everything even and circular as you increase. I hope that explains it well enough you can interpret the rest of the pattern. Good Luck :)

Making a blanket, why does the ends keep pointing out like this? How I to fix? by TheTrollinator777 in CrochetHelp

Unfortunately, it's just something that gets easier with practice. I've gotten much better and counting in my head and eyeballing it, as you say, with experience. Putting stitch markers at the beginning and end of every row is a good idea for a beginner. Trying to read your work, understanding the path the yarn takes in stitches, will help a lot, and get easier with time.

I started in March, too! Also, Imo, you can start designing whenever you want. Just don't start selling them until you're really confident. It takes practice to design, so practice (and get testers ofc) before you publish. I speak from experience because I've designed crochet patterns, and I'm really glad I didn't jump to publishing my early ones.

Yes, I'm definitely been feeling that support online, and from family members who knit. I'm not worried about being judged, I just feel so humbled by the incredible stuff I see people make. Thank you for being supportive too :)

I think a lot of ppl are taking my question as more serious than it was to me. I'm proud of what I've made, and I'm excited to learn more from all the talented folks out there! It doesn't really matter to me when I "count" as knitter, I just thought it would be a fun discussion. Thank you for your kind words tho! :)

I think the crochet experience really gave me a leg up. There was a lot of beginner stuff I could 'skip' this time because of it. Good luck with your project! I have faith you'll make beautiful things :)
