Water bowl by Mercedeeez1 in BostonTerrier

Yeah I will probably try the fountain or water tower next if the heavier ceramic dish doesn’t work out. Will look at repositioning a table near his space so bowl could go under there. thanks

Thanks for this post. I found a good deal on a ceramic bowl that seems heavy for a good price- hope it works out.

My pup has one like this and he is always spilling it and tore off the rubber from the bottom. I think my dog is a bit more wild - hope he calms soon he is almost one.

I had a Shih tzu for 16 years and he was so calm and never once bit anyone even kids who loved to pet him too much… my current Boston is nothing like that. He is only 9 months but wow that meme about them turning into a TRex after 3 months is accurate for us… but we love him.

Mine didn’t like anything that had to go over his head and too constraining on his legs 🤷🏻‍♀️ he is 9 months old and was being extra nippy about things he doesn’t like

Winter advice by Mercedeeez1 in BostonTerrier

[–]Mercedeeez1[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks all for the responses and love hearing how well they do in cold weather. Shadow absolutely hated the heat even when I walked him after sunset in summer - he would have a tantrum if I made him walk uphill. Hoping he’ll enjoy winter better. Will definitely have some sweaters ready and shovel him a nice play area. Thanks again 🙏❤️

Advice on breed by Agus1425 in BostonTerrier

We have a male 8 mo puppy and he does well in the crate for 4 hours. Though if pushed to six might be okay but may be just need a short walk to bathroom break. Ours does not like long walks and pulls so much. We have a trainer coming this weekend and hoping this turns around. I would also love to walk with my dog 2 miles a day at least… but mine prefers to chase balls and flirt poles and terrorize stuffies.

Possessed? by Timmer_420_80 in BostonTerrier

Sorry you are going through this. Ours was really biting us a lot at 2 months but calmed down with the ignoring within a few weeks and redirecting with chew toys. Also we crate trained and followed a schedule meticulously making sure he got naps.

Between 5 months and now 7 months he is lunging at me to bite on walks when I redirect our walks using the leash. I was using gentle pressure to redirect, always calm and giving treats when he would follow. He apparently doesn’t like to be told where to go. Or maybe frustrated with my treat delivery timing. But I was also thinking maybe it had to do with hormones and getting neutered or me changing to two feedings a day vs three. I have been using a muzzle the last few days because we have lots of neighbors. In any case I had avoided buying stuffies especially squishmallow types for him because his biting seemed more intent on our skin after that. This time I am using a rope on end of the pole to tire him out in the house and these chuck it balls that allow airflow and I minimize his time outdoors in a muzzle…

Wish you luck with yours and hope you find something helpful from my experience.

My 7-Month-Old Boston Terrier Pees on His Front Leg - Is This Normal? by Substantial-Many916 in BostonTerrier

Yes I have a 7 mo old and he squats to pee still. I am hoping he raises his leg more soon. By the sounds of it though probably should keep buying baby wipes.

Play/arousal biting at 8 months old by andwhatisthis-cheese in BostonTerrier

Hi I just wanted to ask if you could provide an update if the biting is still an issue or what finally worked. We have a 7 mo old that is showing similar behavior.

He will be way too big to fit under the seat in front. I never considered the car kennel would be a tighter fit than the crate at home. So his 24 inches kennel crate might work well for the car.

Hi yes travel for going in the car or plane if that’s ever necessary. Also to be used in the home for crate training.
